Beware: Doubting and Complaining Attract Serpents to Destroy You!
Psalms 62:11 assures us: God has spoken once, twice I have heard this: That power belongs to God!
Power, Might, Strength belong to God to help us with anything, any need. Therefore, “your Faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in The Power of God.” (1 Corinthians 2:4).
“If we receive the witness of men, The Witness of God is greater; for this is The Witness of God Which He has testified of His Son.” 1 John 5:9.
Once you have heard God, once you have been assured by God, you must receive The Witness of God, and never doubt or complain about your situation.
The very moment Eve doubted The Truth (The Promises of God), the serpent got her, and easily deceived her.
And eventually, she and her husband lost the GLORIOUS Blessing God had for them — the fully furnished, all-things-provided, nothing-lacking Divine Prime Real Estate in The Glory: The Garden of Eden. (Not even the richest billionaires have had such an estate since then.)
If you do what Eve did (by doubting), you will lose what God has for you — just as she and her husband did theirs.
“But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from The Simplicity that is in Christ.” 2 Corinthians 11:3.
Doubting and/ or complaining would readily give legal access to the serpent to strike, and thus steal, kill and destroy.
The children of Israel saw all the wonderful Works of The LORD in Egypt when He delivered them by His Mighty Hand and Outstretched Arm, gave them great riches instantly and parted the Red Sea for them, but drowned the marauding Pharaoh and his army in the waters.
Yet, they soon doubted God, became very discouraged, and repeatedly complained. And God’s Anger broke out against them. And many were destroyed in the wilderness.
Doubting God, complaining, and such other faithlessness amount to tempting The LORD. He is greatly angered by them.
“‘Therefore the people contended with Moses, and said, “Give us water, that we may drink.” So Moses said to them, “Why do you contend with me? Why do you tempt The LORD?”
So he called the name of the place Massah and Meribah, because of the contention of the children of Israel, and because they tempted The LORD, saying, “Is The LORD among us or not?” ” Exodus 17:2,7.
Doubting God, complaining, and such other faithlessness spiritually invite literal serpents into your life to bite you spiritually, injecting poison and death into various areas of your life: finances, health, marriage, ministry, career/ employment, business, etc.
What happened to the children of Israel in the natural when they doubted and complained, happens today spiritually if one doubts and complains.
“Then they journeyed from Mount Hor by the Way of the Red Sea, to go around the land of Edom; and the soul of the people became very discouraged on the way. And the people spoke against God and against Moses: “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and our soul loathes this worthless bread.” So The LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and many of the people of Israel died. Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, “We have sinned, for we have spoken against The LORD and against you; pray to The LORD that He take away the serpents from us.” So Moses prayed for the people. Then The LORD said to Moses, “Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a pole; and it shall be that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, shall live.” So Moses made a bronze serpent, and put it on a pole; and so it was, if a serpent had bitten anyone, when he looked at the bronze serpent, he lived.” Numbers 21:4-9.
“Now these things became our examples, to the intent that we should not lust after evil things as they also lusted.
…nor let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed by serpents; nor complain, as some of them also complained, and were destroyed by the destroyer.” 1 Corinthians 10:6, 9-10.
When it hurts so bad, when it is overwhelming, don’t be discouraged; don’t doubt or complain. Rather, ask God and get The Way of Escape.
“Then they journeyed from Mount Hor by the Way of the Red Sea, to go around the land of Edom; and the soul of the people became very discouraged on the way.” Numbers 21:4.
Discouragement is a bedfellow of doubt. Complaining is their housemate.
If you allow them into your house (your heart, your mind), you will easily lose it, and certainly lose The Blessing God has promised you.
Please yield to God and not allow discouragement, doubt, complaining and other faithlessness to rob you of the blessing and glorious destiny that God has for you.
As I shared previously, if you feel down, just pray and declare:
“In Jesus’ Name, I have Beauty for ashes, The Oil of Joy for mourning, The Garment of Praise for the spirit of heaviness.” And all discouragement and doubts will flee!
(This is according to Isaiah 61:1.)
No matter what you face, God has “The Way of Escape” for you to come out unscathed and victorious.
“No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, Who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make The Way of Escape, that you may be able to bear it.” 1 Corinthians 10:13.
Ask The LORD to show you The Way of Escape — the way out of the situation. Keep asking until He shows you. And promptly do whatever He says to you.
In John 2, more wine was needed at the wedding, but Jesus said to the servants to fill the waterpots with water!
What?! WATER?
The groom needed more wine to serve his wedding guests, and You said to fill waterpots with water? Lord?
What has water got to do with wine?
But when they obeyed what God had said to them, the water was instantly made the good wine!
Heeding Mary’s advice always will get you Good Success always from Jesus her Son: “Whatever He says to you, do It.” (John 2:5).
Again, God has spoken once, twice I have heard this: That Might, Power, Strength belong to God to help you with anything, any need. Therefore, “your Faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in The Power of God.” (1 Corinthians 2:4).
Things The LORD commands to do can often sound ridiculous, even foolish. But in them are the solutions to your problems.
His Ways are higher than our ways. Always choose to go on The Most High’s Higher Ways, and you will be blessed from On High.
An unfailing Way of Escape is Prayer and Thanksgiving; yes, Prayer and Praise!
This was expressly demonstrated by Paul and Silas while shackled in the Philippian jail.
Their prayers and praises to God released His Power and delivered them most dramatically. And they were even feted with VIP treatment by the officer who had jailed them. (See Acts 16:16-34.)
Therefore, please don’t be discouraged; don’t doubt or complain. Rather, pray and praise God, and receive His mighty deliverance. Amen.
The LORD bless you and keep you; The LORD make His Face shine upon you, and be Gracious to you; The LORD lift up His Countenance upon you, and give you Peace. (Numbers 6:24-26)
SHALOM!
“The LORD Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Grace be with you. Amen.” 2 Timothy 4:22.
“Farewell” Acts 15:29.
~ Jacob Addison Awagah
Jacob, an apostle of JESUS CHRIST by The Will of GOD, according to The Promise of Life Which is in CHRIST JESUS, (2 Timothy 1:1).
Like John, I like to put my head to The Heart of JESUS so as to know and do His Will always. What’s in His Heart is what matters now and FOREVER. His Heart’s Desire is my only desire. My will is to do His Will.
As John was, I am the disciple whom JESUS loves. And like Paul, I am “the prisoner of CHRIST JESUS” (Ephesians 3:1) for His Purpose forever: to obey Him always.
NB. Surely, the disciple whom JESUS loves and “the prisoner of CHRIST JESUS”, like ALL The Promises of GOD, are available to every believer to obtain, just as John and Paul did.
“And having been perfected, He [JESUS] became The Author of Eternal Salvation to all who obey Him,” Hebrews 5:9.
