“And Jesus answered and said unto them, “Take heed that no man deceive you,” Matthew 24:4 King James Version.
Jesus says in John 17:1-3,
“Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: “Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You, as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him.
And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.”
Do you know Him?
If you were to die today, would you know for certain that you have eternal life with Jesus?
So what if you don’t receive Him and are not saved from your sins?
Remember John 3:16-18?
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”
Salvation is His free gift to you, and it is available to all men, for all men need to be saved from their sins.
The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life.
Sadly, the devil is the author of confusion, and he seeks to keep the average Christian defeated in their walk with God over this very subject.
Look at the last part of this verse again:
“He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”
Romans 5:18 says,
“Therefore, as through one man’s offense (Adam) judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one man’s (Christ) righteous act the free gift came to all men resulting in justification of life.”
This verse says sin brings judgment to all men for God is Holy, that is why we need Jesus Christ’s payment for that sin, His shed blood, for Jesus Christ was your perfect sacrifice.
But if you do not believe in Jesus Christ and receive His free gift of salvation, you are condemned.
What does condemned mean? If a man or woman commits a crime worthy of the electric chair, they are sentenced or condemned to death. Sentence has been passed and there is no hope for life.
To condemn means to judge against, to damn, to punish . God is just and can’t let sin go unpunished, for the wages of sin is death.
But what happens after we die?
Remember, we are made in His image and are therefore eternal, so we must spend eternity somewhere.
Salvation is a quality of life, those who do not believe will also have a quality of life that is of suffering eternally.
Remember, God is holy. Let’s look at some verses of scripture: In Revelation 1:17b-18 Jesus says,
“…Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last. I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades (Hell) and of Death.”
Jesus is the one who decides who is sent to hell.
Revelation 19:20; 20:10 says this place is where the beast and the false prophet “who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone.”
The devil will also be there and they will all be tormented day and night forever and ever. But notice Revelation 20:11-15, it says,
“Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small land great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.“
There will be a day when Jesus returns for His children and to judge all. He says, Mark 9:42-48 says,
“And whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble (to fall into sin), it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea. And if your hand makes you sin, cut it off.
It is better for you to enter into life maimed, than having two hands, to go to hell (Gehenna), into the fire that shall never be quenched — where their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.
And if your foot makes you sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life lame, than having two feet, to be cast into hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched — where their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched. And if your eye makes you sin, pluck it out.
It is better for you to enter the Kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire — where their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.”
Beloved, the cost of sin is too high.
“Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God?
Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you.
But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.” 1 Corinthians 6:9-11.
Without the blood of Jesus washing your sin away, this same sin will lead you to hell, an eternal death, where the fire burns forever.
You will not die in hell but suffer eternally, this place where the fire is never quenched and their worm does not die.
Be sure today that you belong to Jesus… It’s time to settle it once and for all!
God Bless You, you are in my prayers
