Excuses, Excuses!
The most settled, lukewarm statement “Christians” make to excuse their sin or someone’s else [sin] that they’ve elevated in their mind that “Nobody is perfect!”
Yet, somehow, as a human race we perfected how to write, speak, walk, pronounce our names (even the hard ones), and hold our own bladders.
We’ve managed to perfect gaming sequences, mathematics, cooking challenges, sport moves, and voice notes (singing).
We’ve accomplished going to and from space, landing planes, brain surgery, and fertilizing eggs in a lab.
But we REFUSE to strive to perfect our relationship with YHVH-God.
I want to remind everyone that Yeshua [Jesus] said;
“Therefore be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.” Matthew 5:48.
Peter wrote;
“As obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, “Be holy, for I AM Holy.” 1 Peter 1:14-16.
He was quoting what YHVH-God Himself commanded His children in Leviticus 11:44.
Even for the “New Testament Paul-lovers” (who seem to gleefully overlook what is written in the First Covenant), he wrote; “For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness.
“Therefore he who rejects this does not reject man, but God, who has also given us His Holy Spirit.” 1 Thessalonians 4:7-8.
AND…
“Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.” 2 Corinthians 7:1.
My husband recently stated, “What amazes me more than the level of hypocrisy that American Christians operate in, is their ability to twist scriptures to defend their hypocrisy.”
In the end the King of Kings will come and judge everyone, NOT according to their intentions or desire to “do good” but their actual actions.
“In accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, who “will render to each one according to his deeds,”” Romans 2:5-6.
“For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works.” Matthew 16:27.
We need to STOP making excuses for what is blatant wickedness.
Christ died so that mankind would be given the opportunity to repent. His blood is not an insurance policy for one to continue in their sin while making excuses that “no one is perfect.”
Repentance means to TURN AWAY.
“A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things. But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.” Matthew 12:35-37.

Amen, at a small group, my husband and myself are involved in at our church recently this very thing came up? It seems there is so much talk about how imperfect we all are, and we will always be this way.. blah, bla, I absolutely hate that kind of talk? I spoke up and said, you know God has given us the power to overcome our flesh! I was just looked at like I was from a foreign country, speaking a foreign language?? This is a word that needs to be shouted out! Praise the Lord, we have the victory through Christ our Lord. We can walk by the spirit and put to death the flesh! Christ died and rose again to give us NEW LIFE!! Not a life, that excuses sin, and walks in the flesh??
