Fight With The Cross as the Sword
In our warfare, we only overcome with The Cross, triumphing over the principalities and powers in The Cross — just as our LORD Himself did.
“And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to The Cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in It [The Cross].” Colossians 2:13-15 NKJV.
It was our wedding anniversary some weeks ago. From about 5:30am, the enemy tried to disrupt the day by using a neighbour (whom I’m fervently praying for — praying her out of darkness into The Kingdom of God) to disturb the peace.
I managed to eventually get an official intervention to get the situation under control, even as I dealt with it spiritually by prayer.
Fast forward hours later.
As usual, as I do every night, I was praying very strategic, systematic warfare prayers, all written out (it takes about 40 minutes to pray).
It is a major part of hours of my nightly priestly service of various Sacrifices at The Altar, including thanksgiving, repentance, violent warfare, supplications, intercessions, taking The Communion and undertaking post-Communion singing in Praise and Worship (please see Matthew 26:30; Mark 14:26).
In the course of the prayer, there is a “Power and Might for…” segment that I ad lib — asking Power and Might for Wisdom, Understanding, Knowledge, Discernment, Perceiving, Manifestation of The Spirit, Endurance, Obedience, fully pleasing The LORD, finances, among others according to 1 Chronicles 29:12.
That night, when praying that segment — speaking off script as shared above, I suddenly saw a flash Vision of The Cross as a SWORD!
As The LORD has taught me, when He is showing us something or trying to get our attention, we must stop, turn and give it to Him, fully.
(When The LORD appeared to Moses in a Flame of Fire in The Midst of The Bush, it was only when he said: “I will now turn aside and see this Great Sight, why The Bush does not burn” that The LORD spoke to Him. (Exodus 3:3))
As written,
“So when The LORD saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from The Midst of The Bush and said, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.” ” Exodus 3:4.
The LORD only spoke to Moses when he gave attention to What He was showing him.
Is it a Revelation to ponder, a Dream or a Vision to understand, a Sign (such as same number(s) occurrences, images occurrences, curious and peculiar sights and sounds that pique one’s interest as prompted by The Holy Spirit, among others)?
We must ask The LORD/ check with The LORD if He is showing us/ saying something to us; then give Him attention, expecting to receive from Him.)
Now then. So I paused my fervent, very flowing and powerful praying, and asked The LORD what He was showing me.
Almost immediately, I understood It.
He was so pleased with my praying for Power and Might for Wisdom, Understanding, Knowledge, Discernment, Perceiving, Endurance, Obedience, fully pleasing The LORD, finances, etc. that, He also wanted me to add asking for Power and Might for warfare — waging The Good Warfare (1 Timothy 1:18; Ephesians 6:12-18; 2 Corinthians 10:4-6; Matthew 11:12).
Then, while continuing the praying (and subsequently) I pondered further on The Vision of The Cross as The Sword.
OF COURSE! INDEED! IT IS!!
The Cross is THE Sword!
Is not The Word of God The Sword of The Spirit? (Ephesians 6:17)
Well, we have “THE WORD of The Cross”! (1 Corinthians 1:18). And thus The Cross as The Sword.
In the course of my pondering The Vision and receiving The Revelation Flow, I remembered a Dream our sister Gabrielle Fuehrer had shared with me some months ago of The Cross as a Key (and her subsequent painting of same).

When I further pondered The Vision, the peculiar orientation (the slanting alignment) of the Cross Beam (as depicted in my drawing of The Vision, below) makes The Cross as The Sword look like an aircraft or a spacecraft, or even a cruise missile in flight and descending to strike a target.

Oh, yes! We can, and must, deploy The Cross as The Sword into the atmosphere, into the heavenly places to STRIKE and slay the principalities and powers in the heavenly places (Ephesians 3:10; 6:12-18), triumphing over them in The Cross.
I previously often prayed The Cross to strike and destroy the devil and his minions; but not with The Revelation of using It as The Sword. Now I deploy this additional Revelation in battle, buoyed valiantly.
NB. By “The Cross”, Scripture means The Sufferings of Christ, The Sacrifice of Himself for our sins — The Death Penalty He suffered in our stead so that we, instead, have Eternal Life.
In The Vision, the pointed End of The Sword had a pale dark blue hue.
I understand “blue” represents The Word.
Although I have yet to find a specific Scripture reference stating so, a few years ago I had a Dream of a Sword above the horizon, latitudinally reaching from the south to the north — partly painted with blue. (Please read this Word for very important Spiritual Understanding.)
Numbers 4:7 (NKJV) says “On The Table of Showbread they shall spread a Blue Cloth, and put on It The Dishes, The Pans, The Bowls, and The Pitchers for pouring; and The Showbread shall be on It.”
The Showbread was a Type and Shadow of The Bread of God/ The Bread of Life/ The Living Bread — The LORD Jesus Christ, Who is The Word; He was The Showbread displayed on The Blue Cloth-covered Table (John 6:33-58; 1:1-3, 14; Numbers 4:7).
There is also copious reference in Scripture to “blue” in making textile furnishings for The Tabernacle and making of The Ephod/ Robe of The Ephod in Exodus 26; 27; 28, and other chapters.
I also see that, with Its pointed End (as shown in The Vision), The Cross as The Sword can, through prayer declarations and decrees, be easily staked to claim a territory, to hold a ground, and used as a supporting Structure to help one be well and firmly grounded in the battlefield of our warfare — totally depending on and appropriating The Finished Work of Christ.
The Cross as The Sword can be used in diverse ways revealed by The Spirit, Whose Sword is The Word of God — The Word of The Cross.
As the battle rages and increases in intensity, let us confidently and valiantly fight with The Cross as The Sword, “to the intent that now The Manifold Wisdom of God might be made known by The Church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places” (Ephesians 3:10 NKJV).
Alleluia!
“The LORD Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Grace be with you. Amen.” 2 Timothy 4:22.
“Farewell” Acts 15:29.
~ Jacob Addison Awagah
Jacob, an apostle of JESUS CHRIST by The Will of GOD, according to The Promise of Life Which is in CHRIST JESUS, (2 Timothy 1:1).
Like John, I like to put my head to The Heart of JESUS so as to know and do His Will always. What’s in His Heart is what matters now and FOREVER. His Heart’s Desire is my only desire. My will is to do His Will.
As John was, I am the disciple whom JESUS loves. And like Paul, I am “the prisoner of CHRIST JESUS” (Ephesians 3:1) for His Purpose forever: to obey Him always.
NB. Surely, the disciple whom JESUS loves and “the prisoner of CHRIST JESUS”, like ALL The Promises of GOD, are available to every believer to obtain, just as John and Paul did.
“And having been perfected, He [JESUS] became The Author of Eternal Salvation to all who obey Him,” Hebrews 5:9.
