Greater Authority 2
A new look at an old post, one of my first here:
The LORD is increasingly taking me back to Words I have previously posted, either with further revelations or just to repeat the word as being timely for this particular moment!
There’s a further ‘new’ level of Authority being given by The LORD for this season — no longer the coming season but THIS Season.
As usual, I was sat in my favourite chair sipping coffee when The LORD drew my attention to my staff, which I take with me on missions.
It stands in our living room, leaning up against the bookcase. I sometimes grab it and start to pray, so it was no surprise when, in The Spirit, I saw myself speaking out while holding my staff aloft.
I’ve had it for about about five years now, but it’s only more recently that I’ve felt led to use it whenever I’m out and about.
Originally, I felt Spirit led to get a staff, although to be honest, I was unsure, I thought it might almost be a gimmick.
Sometimes we don’t understand but we can only trust and obey! After all, I’d never seen my mentor with one; I’d never seen Bob Jones or Kim Clement with one — although they may have had one — but I’d never seen them with one!
But The Holy Spirit encouraged me to get one, and he showed me old saints with one which I thought was a walking or hiking stick — so I bought one.
Sometimes we don’t really understand, but we can only trust and obey! I’ve since seen a few folk with one, including some well known prophets.
Soon I started noticing that there are many references in the Bible of prophets holding their staff over lands and areas over which they were prophesying.
Jacob, Judah, Moses (struck the rock with his staff, and water poured out), Aaron (Aaron’s Rod or staff), Samuel and many other prophets (even Balaam) all had a staff.
In the New Testament, Jesus sent the 72 out in twos with nothing but a staff — it was the symbol of their authority then, and it’s a symbol of our authority now.
The LORD told me to take my staff when planting the stake in Wales and to hold it out, extend it, whilst declaring and prophesying over Wales. The staff represents prophetic authority.
So, now I’m holding my staff in my home and God is speaking to me. “Just as the staff is the visible authority of My Prophets, so there is coming a new, greater authority that I AM making available to My Prophets and other five-fold Ministers.
It is not available to all but only to those I invite and anoint will receive this authority.
Age, or youth, is no barrier, neither is experience, but only those whose heart is right before Me.
Remember Luke 12:48 ‘For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required.’
This is no easy mantle to carry, for it bears great responsibility and great accountability too.”
Just as The LORD has spoken to me about new mantles before, so He is speaking to me about them more specifically this time.
I believe, very strongly, that the season of the ‘greater things than I do’, of which Jesus spoke, is upon us now, and this ‘greater authority’ of which He speaks now is an anointing for this Season.
I also believe that The LORD will show those He chooses to use a staff or not.
I also heard a warning to go with this Word. “Those who try to appropriate this anointing without My Authority will be shown up as false prophets and teachers — they will carry a false anointing that will reveal their false motives.
My People will do My Work only for My Glory, and great will be their reward from My Father.
Those, like Balaam but with their own false motives, will be revealed, and they must repent quickly.”
Thus saith The LORD…..
