Hearing God in Your Dreams Made Simple
Part 1: “Hearing God in Your Dreams: Responding to His Voice”
I was awakened at 6:00 a.m. April 1st, 2025, with a voice saying “The true Church in Delaware will be in The Cellar!”
Over recent years, I’ve become aware The LORD often wakes us up with His Voice, be it a fresh download, or an Angel delivering the message. (Isaiah 30: 21-23)
As in 1 Kings 19:12 (The Whisper), this is often how The LORD speaks to me.
Then, in Revelation 3:20 — we see that God (the gentleman) knocks on the door of our heart. He chooses the time to visit us (at day or in the night hours).
1 Samuel 3:10 can speak to all of us, for The LORD is always watching for those who will listen to His still, small Voice.
The LORD is not limited in how He desires to communicate with His family. He is the author of variety.
As The LORD has been teaching me over the years, if I wake up still remembering Words and Dreams, I let that moment brew inside of my soul for a minute.
I talk to The LORD in my heart, with head still on my pillow.
I’m trying to piece together the sequence of images, colors and scenes that I just had moments before in my R.E.M1 dream state.
And this works well for me, as before I down a cup of morning coffee, I can barely mutter a coherent sentence anyway…..
I find the unspoken exchange of conversation between my God and myself, is often the sweetest and purest form of prayer.
Your heart just knows when God is in His temple: His peace and presence is His calling card.
The signature of Him is on every house call — He fills me with an inner-knowing that I am His, I am loved, and He has me in His eye-shot.
The early morning hours have not yet been cluttered with activity, the birds outside are looking for a meal, and their song is soothing.
The sun pierces through the shades, and yesterday’s worries are done. I am alive yet one more day — and God has a purpose in it, even when I don’t see it.
This is what the early dawn means to me, and, it is what the middle of the night means.
When the outside world is quiet — no cars, no business — that is when my heart hears God’s voice is most clear to me.
The best way to train yourself to hear God’s Voice within your soul — is when your body is still, your computer (your brain, thoughts) had a good shutdown.
Your mind-hard-drive has rebooted in sleep mode, and your software (Holy Spirit sounds) had a fresh download. This is resting in Him — made easy!
In my on-the-go-job-world retirement years — it has become the most precious hour of the day.
Right before bed, and just waking up. It’s when I can hear His Voice (heavens live-stream, if you will) with great ease.
After all, heaven has encoded our Maker’s Software into every one of the trillions of cells of our bodies.
Like your home computer, you want to access the folders, programs and documents (His Messages, Words and Communication with you) when you need them.
“Call to me an.I will answer and show you great and unbearable things you do not know,” Jeremiah 33:3.
I’m no rocket scientist, in fact, I’m still pretty tech-remedial (by any teen’s standards).
The LORD wants to speak to you, in you, and through you.
He’s waiting to be invited to the party — of you.
The LORD revealed to me He gets excited and yes, joyful, expressing Himself through us.
When Michelangelo started painting the Sistine Chapel in 1508, or when 1924 Olympian Eric Liddell ran and noted “I feel God’s pleasure when I run,” or when physician-theologian-philosopher-humanitarian, Dr. Albert Schweitzer, who won the Nobel peace prize in 1952 for his writing, “Reverence for Life,” — they were just doing what came naturally — being alive, and listening, to who they were fashioned to be!
If God had a favorite toy, a great invention, a favorite child, a long-awaited gift, a cherished wish — it would look like — you!
You are a reflection of the miracle of God’s best handiwork. Believe it!
You are His dream with skin on. You are the physical manifestation of what He dreams about.
Part 2: “Hearing God in Your Dreams: Responding to His Voice”
The why is integral to everything — it is the foundation — The Cellar, the basement.
The why supports the frame for everything else we see, hear, know, feel and sense.
Think on Genesis Chapter 1 — “And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.”
God had a purpose, a WHY, for creating light.
Genesis 1:1-3 is our Creators hardware download and software manual all in one.
From childhood to advanced years, if we learn to trust our God-intuited-instincts and learn to recognize His voice sleeping or awake — The Glory of The LORD would explode into every place on earth. His Glory is everywhere.
Everyone who has ever lived was meant to display a different facet of the beauty of the Godhead.
We’re all a different piece of the myriad of God’s Glory.
I’m not a psychologist, so I don’t know how the subconscious and conscious realm merge — or how the neurotransmitters take The Holy Spirit’s Voice to our brain.
And I don’t need to understand it all. (As someone once said, that’s above my pay grade).
I just know that Father God, King Jesus and Holy Spirit — the One God — have programmed our DNA to make this all happen, and it’s too miraculous to understand it all.
Maybe in heaven’s creation-science-laboratory — we’ll see up close how our Father put His life in us. Can you imagine that?
Back to the Dream.
Yesterday morning I had a waking dream, in which there were three groups of people.
I didn’t see who or what they were doing, but I knew I was in a particular group, the third group gathered.
I was in The Cellar Group.
I researched some biblical meanings of the word cellar.
It was 6:00 a.m., and I heard a man’s voice say in a calm yet deliberate way, “The true Church in Delaware will be in The Cellar!”
Now I live in Delaware and I know about The Law of First Mention2 in The Bible, and Delaware was the first state to ratify The US Constitution3, and I live ten miles from the first city (Lewes) in the first state in the Nation.
I sensed that for Intercession and Prayer/ Watchman purposes, that’s why I heard that sentence.
God always has a why in what He tells us, directs and plans, He is infinitely organized and strategic.
We couldn’t scratch the surface (if we trained) of the trillions of thoughts in His being — which is why His ways are always higher than ours.
Joy is being content with the portion we are told. It’s more than a full plate full, any day.
After coffee, I hit the Bible Concordance to research the word Cellar.
- Some interesting definitions: a subterranean vault (1 Chronicles 27:28), a storehouse.
- The word is also used to denote the treasury of the temple (1 Kings 7:51) and of the king (1 Kings 14:26).
- The Hebrew word is rendered “garner” in Joel 1:17 , and “armory” in Jeremiah 50:25.
Think of all the Prophetic Words about the End-times Wealth Transfer.
Think of how The LORD tells us we are His treasure in earthen vessel — and then there are many scriptures about the third-day, etc.
You see where I’m going with this, right? Bottom line, whether it was King Jesus, Holy Spirit or an angel that whispered that into Spirit before I awoke- I don’t know. I knew the sentence came from a heavenly origin, that’s all that matters.
Whether a Secretary-angel delivered it, or it was the Godhead popping in for a visit — the sender is still God. That’s enough!
That’s what I’m learning to focus on: The WHY.
Why: Because He loved us before we were born. He loved the dream of a family before there was an Adam or Eve. H is heart stirs for relationship — and that still swirls in the very essence of Him.
Part 3: “Hearing God in Your Dreams: Responding to His Voice”
As The LORD has been teaching me over the years, if I wake up still remembering words, dreams, I let that moment brew inside of my soul for a minute.
I converse with The LORD in my heart — head still on the pillow.
I’m trying to piece together the sequence of images, colors, scenes that I just had moments before in my R.E.M dream state.
I find the unspoken exchange of conversation between my God and myself, is often the sweetest and purest form of prayer.
When you are truly rested from the inside-out, at peace, when anxieties of life are abated, The Holy Spirit can do a good shutdown on our hard drive, if you will, and download, His heavenly Mysteries, His Ways, His Voice, get a fresh reboot.
Our internal soul — our software — comes straight from the manufacturer. Nothing to troubleshoot.
Glory is always perfection — because God is perfect in all His ways.
Early and late — the bookends of the day; like the bread on the sandwich of daily activities, are sweet to me.
The early morning hours have not been cluttered with doing, the birds outside are looking for a meal, and their song is sweet.
The sun pierces through the shades, and yesterday’s worries are done.
I am alive yet one more day — and God has a purpose in it, even when I don’t see it.
This is what the early dawn means to me — and, it is what the middle of the night means.
When the outside world is quiet — no cars, no business — that is when my heart hears God’s Voice is most clear to me.

I’m still pretty tech-remedial (by any teen’s standards).
Life experience has been my tutor in life, and The Holy Spirit gives the best hands-on training anywhere.
Just ask Him to speak to you, in you, through you. He’s waiting to be invited to the party — of you.
Sweet dreams!
“To sleep: perchance to dream: ay, there’s the rub”
From: Shakespeare’s Hamlet, Act 111, Scene 1, [To be, or not to be].
“The watchman says, “Morning comes but also night. If you would inquire, inquire; Come back again.”” Isaiah 21:12.
“At this I awoke and looked, and my sleep was pleasant to me.” Jeremiah 31:26.

And precious. God bless you. As the lord continues to reveal himself to you!
Elizabeth, thank you for your post – it brings confirmation of some of my recent experiences of those right before falling asleep and upon waking hours. Just this morning I managed to go as late as minutes to 8:00 a.m. for the second round of mother nature. Glad you mentioned the supernatural, having been there before and after many years, I must be retrained again. It does help not to taper the liquid intake many hours before bedtime, of which I make up for morning hours. Thank you for the dream aspects of your post. I do see a new thing for me there also. Blessings.
