I Would Speak to My People So Clearly, but Will They Listen? — 4 Comments

  1. Hi Sarah. I understand the value of the prophets and those with a prophetic gift. There is only one truth, what the Lord says is true. Yet many prophets are saying completely different things about the end times, contradicting each other. So how do I know who is a false prophet from a true prophet. How do I know who is speaking from their own imaginations. They quote the same scriptures but interpret them differently. I am so confused.

    • I understand you. What often appears to be a contradiction is, in reality, two sides of the same coin. For instance, one can speak of God’s grace and mercy on the one hand, and of judgment and shaking on the other. We all know only in part and prophesy only in part. Prophecy must be tested; that is our task. How is this done? You examine the source to determine whether it comes from God. 1 John 4 shows us how. Even antichristian spirits acknowledge Jesus and the fact that He was a human being—this is the case in Islam as well. But pay attention to the word “Christ” in verse 2; that is the crucial point! “Christ” means “the Anointed One” (Messiah)—that is, the Redeemer sent by God. And that is precisely what these false spirits do not acknowledge. They love to talk about themselves—and often do—but the voice rings false. If the word does not resonate within you, then do not accept it. Warm regards, and be blessed!

    • God bless you Linda. You raise a very important question. I believe all prophetic words must line up with Scripture. If they contradict Scripture they are not of God.
The end times is a challenging area of teaching because there are so many different opinions and teachings. I believe Jesus is coming back to Earth. I believe He will judge all people in righteousness. I don’t know the exact order of events of the last days and honestly I don’t think it matters. Contention does more harm than good and we will not know 100 percent accurately until it happens. I believe we need to repent from our sin and wrongdoing, trust in Jesus and receive His salvation and Holy Spirit and walk with Him each day and follow the Holy Spirit’s leading in our lives. We can totally miss what God has for us now if we think too much about the exact order of events of the last days. Read God’s Word and live by its truth. Many blessings.
