Is it Not Time to Open & Read the Word Again?
The joy of The LORD is still our strength today!
“So they read in the book in the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading.” Nehemiah. 8:5.
Good morning,
Lately, I have felt led personally to get back into the whole book of Nehemiah.
I do remember years ago, reading and studying there for 2-3 months.
It’s like The LORD kept me there for awhile for a purpose.
What a time that was studying about Nehemiah and the building of the wall, etc.
It is such a rich and deep book, with only 13 chapters.
First a song to hopefully bless you as it does me.
Here is a breakdown I personally liked of Nehemiah Chapter 8 if you care to open this link.
The last verse in Chapter 8 concludes with a feast of The LORD.
It was kept seven (7) days. If I’m not mistaken, believe it was the feast of tabernacles?
Then on the eighth day their was a solemn assembly.
Now with some concluding verses. I pray you be both refreshed and blessed this day.
“And Nehemiah, which is the Tirshatha, and Ezra the priest the scribe, and the Levites that taught the people, said unto all the people, This day is holy unto The LORD your God; mourn not, nor weep. For all the people wept, when they heard the words of the law.
Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of The LORD is your strength.
So the Levites stilled all the people, saying, Hold your peace, for the day is holy; neither be ye grieved.
And all the people went their way to eat, and to drink, and to send portions, and to make great mirth, because they had understood the words that were declared unto them.” Nehemiah 8:8-12.
We have been given both the Old and the New Testament.
Read it all. We must not throw any of the Word of God out!
Just remember we must only come in through the ‘New Covenant’ of grace.
“But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.” Hebrews 8:6.
“And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.” Hebrews 9:15.
God bless you all.
