Jesus, Crowned with Thorns
Abundant blessings on all God’s People on this wonderful and shining day!
“Then Pilate took Jesus and had him flogged. The soldiers platted a crown of thorns and put it on his head, and they dressed him in a purple robe. They came to him and said, ‘Hail, King of the Jews!’ And they slapped him.” John 19:1-3.
Prayer
Father, You are our only comfort and solace in this life of ours.
Unfortunately, our minds want to dominate the Spirit that You have placed within each of us, dictating its law.
Today we ask You to place a special Helmet on our heads, so that every fiery dart fired at our minds can be intercepted and destroyed.
Father, today we understand why our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ wore the Crown of Thorns.
Those thorns represented all our mental worries, our dilemmas, our uncertainties, our troubles, our sorrows.
He took them upon Himself to leave us a mind free to follow Him.
If only we could realize that He took upon Himself all our suffering, illness, situation, and circumstance, we would be filled with joy and gratitude.
While we are still here doubting and questioning the saving work of The Cross, which was not limited to our future Salvation, but also includes the healing of our souls and bodies today.
Father, all of that anguish troubles us and keeps us awake at night we lay it down today definitively before Your Throne.
Today, Father, let it be a day of Revival and Rejoice in the camp of the righteous. May shouts of Joy and Jubilation reach You.
Take our burden, our baggage, and give us the yoke of Jesus, for it is He who must lead and guide us. If we align ourselves with Him, everything goes well, for He keeps the pace and we follow Him.
Let us remember that in Genesis, when Adam and Eve were expelled from Eden, Adam was told that the ground would produce thorns and thistles (indicating torments, grave afflictions, pains, worries).
The expression “thorns and thistles” represents the suffering, anguish, difficulties, and pains encountered throughout life.
Jesus also took on this burden by wearing that crown of thorns without any complaint, to free us from this curse.
Jesus could cry out *it is finished* because he truly accomplished everything for which He was sent.
To Him be the glory and honor forever because He is,
- The Alpha and the Omega,
- The Beginning and the End.
May We Emerge in Christ
Wonderful Father, You know our frailties and our troubles better than anyone else, but today we ask loudly that You lead us and that our minds, which constantly wander, be totally aligned with the mind of Christ.
Teach us, instruct us as you did with Jesus.
All this will involve a time of separation from the world, but we will emerge, like Jesus, after the 40 days in the desert, ready to lay down our lives for others and be led by The Holy Spirit always and everywhere.
Thank You Father, because You have seen in each of us a diamond that must emerge from the mine of this life.
Search deep within us, investigate us, but bring forth what You already see in us through Christ Jesus our LORD.
In the Wonderful, Holy, and Powerful Name of Jesus, we pray.
Amen and Amen.
“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.” Isaiah 26:3.
