Native, Indigenous, or First Nation
A couple of years ago, whilst speaking to a pastor, he said that another pastor who was from another country, had “No authority here — because he’s not First Nation!”
The pastor of whom he spoke had been pastoring in that country for over 20 years and was highly respected and sought after as a speaker and teacher.
That “No Authority” quote stuck in my mind until last night during a zoom prayer call involving people from several nations.
The LORD showed me that it was not right, but it was nearly right! Dangerous ground!
The LORD showed me very clearly that although the pastor of whom he spoke had, and has, great Authority, it’s not as much Authority as a ‘First Nation’ pastor of similar seniority.
Does that make sense?
During the zoom prayer call, a young Australian lady was ministering beautifully.
As I watched and listened The LORD said something that I found both shocking and inspiring at the same time.
The LORD said, “In Australia, historically there is a very deep ‘penal spirit’ which still affects their thinking, speaking, and actions in life.
This is a generational spirit common to nearly all ‘incomers’ since the British Colonisation of Australia began in 1788.
However, this ‘penal spirit’ and mentality did not affect Australia’s First Nation people, the Aborigines!
They were gradually converted to Christianity and their faith now rested on Christ rather than any other god.
They have prayed to God for millennia — but now they know who God is, to whom they are praying!
Those of Aboriginal descent have inherited no such penal mentality and have no such inhibitions.
Heaven opens to their prayers!”
The LORD went on to show me that other First Nation Indian tribes in America — many are known Prophets.
It’s the same with First Nation Māoris in New Zealand, and then First Nation Inuits in Canada and Alaska, amongst many other First Nations, also carry this powerful authority.
All these First Nation people were persecuted by other ‘invading’ nations who conquered them or simply claimed their land, frequently deposing the original, rightful indigenous First Nation peoples.
The LORD is using First Nation Christians for His purposes today.
Indigenous /ĭn-dĭj′ə-nəs/ : 1) Originating, growing, or produced in a certain place or region. synonym: native. 2) Being a member of the original inhabitants of a particular place. 3) Of, belonging to, or characteristic of such inhabitants. ~ Chris G. Bennett
Chris Bennett came to salvation in 1962 but didn’t begin ministry until 2007 — a late-comer! Now mandated by The LORD to prophesy and open old wells of revival in the U.K., but especially in Wales. He has also operated Healing Rooms, and worked with deliverance teams, all with his wife, Linda. Happily now doing whatever The LORD asks of them! Founder, with wife Linda, of their ministry The Upper Room Encounter.

Thanks Chris!
How interesting! I wonder how this teaching applies to Pastors in the Caribbean? The majority population is black, brought to the islands through slavery. However, the indigenous peoples of the islands, such as the Caribs and Arawaks were defeated in battles and mostly slaughtered. Then there are those that came from India as indentured servants to a few islands (mostly Jamaica, Trinidad, Grenada). It would be interesting to know of the spiritual heritage that clings to the English speaking Caribbean.
Chris i find this funny. Because I had my status stolen from me ,and iam native.it can’t be hiding from nobody’s sight. But truly I say to you that iam a prophet of the most high, and iam just about out. Yes I when camping with our lord for 4 days 3 nights, if iam bragging, iam bragging JESUS.
Nearly right, almost right, close to the truth but a little off is the most dangerous territory. People with strong conviction of nearly right should not get into the ministry because they will be held responsible for the false gospel they teach. Many cults are not totally wrong. They start out just a little bit off
Chris did NOT write about a false gospel being preached! He referred to first nation Pastors or prophets etc., as having an open heaven to do their work, as opposed to those whose invading or penal ancestors makes them contend with such a spirit – a spiritual hindrance when doing God’s work.
Yes. Thanks for that correction!
