No More Shadows and Lies
A psalm to praise and sing to God, out loud.
No More Shadows and Lies
The birds are singing
The squirrels are dancing
The roosters are crowing
And the LORD is speaking His Word filled with Light
Oh the Truth is shining bright
And the enemy can’t steal what is already mine
I rebuke the shadows and lies
Being played against my mind
I forbid their doubt and fear to come near
The enemy can’t steal my joy and peace
For God has not given me a spirit of fear
But of power and of love and of a sound mind
Everything the enemy tries
Is nothing but shadows and lies
He tries to deceive my mind—
He tries to keep me from my God
He tries to cast a shadow over the Light
He tries to keep me in fear and doubt
Therefore I will dwell on
The goodness and greatness of my God
On what He has done for me already
And the marvelous things He has planned for me
Oh I will praise Him mightily in the Name of JESUS!
His Light and Revelation shine upon me
He is the Father of Lights Who gives good and perfect gifts
And in Whom there is no variation or shadow due to change
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil—death is but a shadow and lie
Yea, death has been defeated
By the Power of the Cross of Christ and His Blood
And the Truth is shining bright!
I rebuke the shadows and lies
Being played against my mind
I forbid their doubt and fear to come near—
The enemy can’t steal my joy and peace
For God has not given me a spirit of fear
But of power and of love and of a sound mind
Oh I declare and decree no more shadows and lies—
No more shadows and lies ever again will I believe!
No more is my mind trapped in a prison—
For I have a Mind of Christ
And He has already set me free!
I rebuke the shadows and lies
Being played against my mind
I forbid their doubt and fear to come near—
The enemy can’t steal my joy and peace
For God has not given me a spirit of fear
But of power and of love and of a sound mind!
Oh yes, I declare and decree:
God has not given me a spirit of fear
But of power and of love and of a sound mind
The doves are cooing
The trees are clapping their hands
The crickets are chirping
And the LORD is speaking His Word filled with Light!
Oh the Truth is shining bright!
And the enemy can’t steal what is already mine!
“O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” 1 Corinthians 15:55.
“But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.” 1 Corinthians 2:14-16.
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7.
“And which now has been manifested through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel,” 2 Timothy 1:10.
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.” James 1:17.
“A Psalm of David. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” Psalm 23:1-4.
“Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.” 1 Peter 5:8.
“Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise.” James 5:13.
“Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” John 8:36.
“Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word. You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.” John 8:43-44.
“Now when Jesus had crossed over again by boat to the other side, a great multitude gathered to Him; and He was by the sea. And behold, one of the rulers of the synagogue came, Jairus by name. And when he saw Him, he fell at His feet and begged Him earnestly, saying, “My little daughter lies at the point of death. Come and lay Your hands on her, that she may be healed, and she will live.” So Jesus went with him, and a great multitude followed Him and thronged Him…. While He was still speaking, some came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house who said, “Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?”
As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not be afraid; only believe.” And He permitted no one to follow Him except Peter, James, and John the brother of James. Then He came to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and saw a tumult and those who wept and wailed loudly. When He came in, He said to them, “Why make this commotion and weep? The child is not dead, but sleeping.” And they ridiculed Him. But when He had put them all outside, He took the father and the mother of the child, and those who were with Him, and entered where the child was lying. Then He took the child by the hand, and said to her, “Talitha, cumi,” which is translated, “Little girl, I say to you, arise.” Immediately the girl arose and walked, for she was twelve years of age. And they were overcome with great amazement. But He commanded them strictly that no one should know it, and said that something should be given her to eat.” Mark 5:21-24,35-43.
“At the end of forty days they returned from spying out the land. And they came to Moses and Aaron and to all the congregation of the people of Israel in the wilderness of Paran, at Kadesh. They brought back word to them and to all the congregation, and showed them the fruit of the land. And they told him, “We came to the land to which you sent us. It flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit. However, the people who dwell in the land are strong, and the cities are fortified and very large. And besides, we saw the descendants of Anak there. The Amalekites dwell in the land of the Negeb. The Hittites, the Jebusites, and the Amorites dwell in the hill country. And the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and along the Jordan.”
But Caleb quieted the people before Moses and said, “Let us go up at once and occupy it, for we are well able to overcome it.” Then the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we are.” So they brought to the people of Israel a bad report of the land that they had spied out, saying, “The land, through which we have gone to spy it out, is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people that we saw in it are of great height. And there we saw the Nephilim (the sons of Anak, who come from the Nephilim), and we seemed to ourselves like grasshoppers, and so we seemed to them.”” Numbers 13:25-33.
