“In whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God,”2 Corinthians 4:4.
“And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful,”Mark 4:19.
“For without my guidance in these days, you would be left to your own devices.
You would be like blind men walking in the dark. You would be on a long, dark road.
For I tell you that those with eyes to see, will know when trouble approaches; but there are many who don’t have eyes to see in this hour.
You won’t see the darkness approaching, for all will be obscured to you. You will be like drones who are sent out — lifeless forms who are like machines without senses.
For much of the world is like this. It is one vast machine that operates and controls the mechanisms.
For it is a machine that dispenses schedules, workloads, and hourly wages to its workers.
It says, ‘Buy this thing for it will improve your life. Buy the most beautiful car, for it will satisfy your deepest desire.’
It is the lust of the eyes, and the need to acquire more and more. For man will always want more and more.
But I tell you, the pursuit of riches only feeds upon itself more and more. It is an insatiable monster. In the end you are controlled by the very thing that you were seeking.”
