Ruth the Moabitess & Boaz the Kinsman Redeemer
Just who was Ruth? Was she just a mere woman in The Bible?
Good morning.
Lately I have felt led to linger in the book of Ruth reading and studying.
Here is a song I just found. I believe it fits here.
Ruth’s integrity strikes me. She is such a woman to be honored!
First Ruth lost her husband. I’m sure that was very difficult!
Then think of Ruth leaving even her own kindred. All to go to a strange land!
There was an extreme price to pay yet she left all behind. Here we see her talking to Naomi, her mother in law:
“And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God: Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the Lord do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and me.” Ruth 1:16-17.
Next think of her long journey from Moab to Bethlehem with Naomi. They went back at the beginning of barley harvest.
It had to be a most difficult trip!
Still in her heart she reconciled it was all God’s divine plan for her life.
Because of her Obedience we see King David coming through the lineage.
What a beautiful book in The Bible to read. There are only four chapters in the book of Ruth. It is just so rich. I only barely skimmed the surface, here.
May I encourage you to read this entire book in The Bible?
Remember Jesus is our precious Kinsman Redeemer today!
“He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.” Colossians 1:13-14.
God bless you all.
“And he said, Blessed be thou of the Lord, my daughter: for thou hast shewed more kindness in the latter end than at the beginning, inasmuch as thou followedst not young men, whether poor or rich.” Ruth 3:10.
“And Salmon begat Boaz, and Boaz begat Obed, And Obed begat Jesse, and Jesse begat David.” Ruth 4:21-22.

Yes, I do too, Pamie. I agree with your words about nuggets to learn, “especially obedience and hope.”
Thank you. Many blessings to you this day. ❤️
