Now here is an Encouraging Word!

It’s Sunday and I woke up with a ‘preach’ on my mind. Here is what The LORD gave me to bring today!

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” 1 Peter 2:9.

The Bible always manages to amaze me. I have read it through a few times and I read bits of it daily.

This is one of those texts that drop out regularly so that we can remind ourselves of our Authority in Christ.

Yes, there are still moments when a verse leaps off the pages in front of me. Not just that but it leaps off with a clarity I have not seen before — not infrequently accompanied by a comment or two from The LORD Himself!

This Verse was no exception. It is my ‘Verse of the day’ from Bible Gateway. A Verse I have heard and read many, many times. A Verse I have heard preached many times too. An encouraging Verse for everyone.

Yet this morning I heard The LORD say, “Tell this to My Church.

They need reminding of their Role, their Authority, their Oosition in Me!”

That contrasted sharply with other things I have heard, or read, and even said about us all recently.

So The LORD gave me these points to say:

“But you are a chosen people…..“

I felt The LORD saying, “Do not look at your circumstances, but look to My Word!

Look to Me, seek My face!

I have chosen you, therefore, you are My Chosen People.

It is time to bow before Me once again in Adoration, Worship and Prayer, for I AM still more than willing to heal your land.

It is something I really long to do. Turn again to Me and I will do it!”

As we worship this morning, this phrase will shine before me —- “A chosen people!”

If God has chosen us, who can stand against us?

“A Royal Priesthood…..“

What an amazing statement for you — a Royal Priesthood!

Despite all your short-comings; despite all your sin and corruption. Yet still God loves the world so much that He will accept the sacrifice of His Son on your behalf and make you and me, even us, a Royal Priesthood.

It is time to be priests in your own homes. It is time to be priests over your street, you neighbourhood, and your city.

Declare the Word of The LORD and He will honour your prayer, your sacrifice, and He will heal your land.

“A Holy Nation…..“

Looking at the Western Church right now you may laugh at this statement and not without good reason.

Yet God, because He calls you a chosen people and a royal priesthood; even God in His infinite mercy, calls us a Holy Nation.

We are to be an example — ‘by their love you shall know them’! (John 13:35). “In God We Trust” — let it be so once more.

“God’s Special Possession…..“

Wow — what a promise. You are God’s Special Possession.

Almost like Israel, the apple of His eye. Church, this is your promise.

Receive it today and act upon it, “That you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” (1 Peter 2:9)

Here is what you need to do — Declare your Praises for our wonderful creator God and for His Son and for His precious Holy Spirit.

That’s quite a promise isn’t it?

It’s not so hard is it?

Receive this — accept it — take it and fly it as your Battle Standard.

Church — it is time to turn back to your God.

Time to truly fulfill Mark 16:15-18 : The Great Commission!

• The Command : Jesus tells his followers to, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature….”
• The Result of Belief : Those who believe and are baptized will be saved.
• The Consequence of Disbelief : Those who do not believe will be condemned.
• Signs of Believers : The following signs will accompany those who believe:
  • Casting out demons in Jesus’ name
  • Speaking in new tongues
  • Handling snakes without harm
  • Drinking any deadly poison without injury
  • Laying hands on the sick, and they will recover

This is still our calling — Because of 1 Peter 2:9, we can fulfill Mark 16:15-18

“But you are a chosen generation, a Royal Priesthood, a Holy Nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light,” 1 Peter 2:9.

“And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who [a]believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”” Mark 16:15-18.
