That Was Not the End — but the Beginning!
I felt an urgency in my spirit to write early this morning as I know this is for someone today.
You’ve lived your life, having faith in God, knowing He loves you and you love Him.
You know the scriptures by heart and you believe them with all your heart. But there are times in life things happen where suddenly, you feel alone.
You feel hopeless. Your faith seems to be failing. The future looks bleak. The pain is excruciating, and it isn’t just one thing.
Hit after hit comes from the enemy… volley after volley sent to destroy you… You feel like giving up…. You tell God you don’t understand.
You ask, “Can I not just have a year, a month, even a week,” and for some, “LORD, can I not even have a day where things go right?”
Have you ever been to this Place of Hopelessness? And I see it as a spiritual realm.
As I sat and pondered this, The LORD showed me a picture in my mind of a Warrior on his knees.
The landscape was empty and bare and dusty. The biting wind was howling all around him. He was ready to surrender and lay down and die on that hill of suffering and agony.
He did not even have the strength to ask for strength, and I heard the Commander of Heaven’s Army say, “My Beloved Warrior. I know and I understand… I understand weakness, and pain, and sorrow…..
The Eternal God, the Almighty, the Creator and your Savior, the God-Man understands anger and frustration and even hopelessness.
Listen My Child.. Over two thousand years ago, these words, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” rang out into the atmosphere, shaking the entire creation, reverberating throughout all of Heaven and the earth, in the earth, and above the earth and below the earth they resounded.
This Cry was echoing throughout all the eons of Time and Space. Every creature, every demonic being, every angel in heaven, every atom and molecule and quantum particle in all of creation heard the agony of The LORD of Hosts.
But wait! This was not the end — but the beginning!
The Cross was endured for the JOY that was set before Him. I know you, My Child! I know you in the Spirit and in the flesh. I do intimately know and feel your struggles in this life.
We are One — joined and entwined forever by your new birth.
The Word became flesh to feel and experience and know all things that you would feel and experience in the flesh, to feel the fiery darts of Satan’s rage and vengeance and hatred, to feel that black cloud of hopelessness and fear and terror of the mind, to feel the intense pain of the heart, and of the soul and of the body.
But you have a Warrior Savior, a Dread Champion who knew no sin but became sin so that you are made the Righteousness of God in Christ.
We are truly One now! So RUN TO ME! With all of My Being I will take you into My Arms and I will hide you, and heal you, and hold you until My Grace empowers you to get up and fight once more.
And make no mistake, My Warrior, you are made in My Image..
I know the steel I have placed in you. I know the toughness I have worked into your DNA.
I know the lion-like boldness in the very center of your being…
You will get up and fight one more time, My Fighter! You will leave that Place of Hopelessness.
You will walk out of that wilderness, leaning on your Beloved.
My Grace is sufficient, My Strength is made perfect in your weakness.
It is not by your own power, nor your own might that you will overcome, but it is by My Spirit,” says The LORD of Hosts.
“You will get back up and stare down and get into the face of the very evil ones who planned your demise and destruction — you will cry our Battle Cry, “IT IS FINISHED!” “By the Grace of God, I WIN!”
Hold fast, My Warrior, and do not be dismayed —- fierce determination is in your eyes.
You have your Father’s eyes. You are more than a conqueror through Him who loves you.
Because The LORD GOD helps you, you will not be disgraced; therefore I have set your face like flint and you will not be put to shame!”
SET YOUR FACE LIKE FLINT : “Flint is a hard, unyielding stone, symbolizing determination and resoluteness. This phrase indicates unwavering commitment to his mission, despite opposition.
“I offered My back to those who struck Me, and My cheeks to those who tore out My beard. I did not hide My face from scorn and spittle.” (This is Jesus speaking about the sufferings of the cross in the Old Testament) “Because the Lord GOD helps Me, I have not been disgraced; therefore I have SET MY FACE LIKE FLINT, and I know that I will not be put to shame.” Isaiah 50:6-7.
ENTWINED : Interwoven, closely connected, unable to be separated. (Cambridge Dictionary)
“Jesus Christ, in His human nature, partook of ALL the original emotions of humanity – hope, fear, desire, joy, grief, indignation, shrinking from suffering, and the like – is apparent, not only from His life, but also from the fact that His assumption of our humanity would have otherwise been incomplete.” (Pulpit Commentary)
“Think of the superhuman greatness of this High Priest of ours, who has passed through the heavens; for He can sympathize with our infirmities, having undergone our trials. The New Testament denotes both bodily infirmity, such as disease and injury, and also the weaknesses of our human nature.” (Pulpit Commentary)
“And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” Matthew 27:46.
JESUS, OUR GREAT HIGH PRIEST : “Seeing then that we have a great High Priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not a high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points “tempted” (to try whether a thing can be done, tested maliciously by Satan, Strong’s #G3985) just as we are, yet without having been born with our sin nature. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:14-16 (Biblehub)
