The Journey Continues with Changes
“The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going,” Proverbs 14:15.
“A highway will be there, a roadway, and it will be called the Highway of Holiness. The unclean will not travel on it, but it will be for him who walks that way, and fools will not wander on it,” Isaiah 35:8.
This life that we live in is always filled full of changes. All around us we see the changes in nature as one season blends into another.
A young child eventually grows up and finds a home of his/ her own to live in, and once again, the rooms that held them now soon will grow empty.
All of our lives are ever-changing, each and every day we witness this and then make plans accordingly. But one must consider wisely the path that is before them, and make decisions knowing what the outcome might be.
It seems that we have always been moving from place to place. I often think that we must have a gypsy spirit that propels us on. And now our youngest one is getting a modest place of her own, and will find security as she makes her nest there.
My work is coming to an end as well, and our plans are being established by the LORD Himself. For He is paving the way ahead for us to travel about, seeing the country and living in a travel trailer.
Our home will be on the road, allowing us to create and write. And yet I know that it is wise not to lean unto my own understanding, but to watch as He directs those steps on the roads and by-ways ahead.
As we’ve prepared this youngest child and watched over her, now we can see and visit other children and families whose visits have been few and far between, and visit an aging mother whose love and wisdom is ever upon her face and smile.
Leaving the walls of our modest home behind could cause one to feel sadness, but it’s almost like pushing off from the shoreline. The land was secure and well-known, but the sea calls and spreads its wings to those who would hear it.
There are about 4,000 species of birds that migrate to southern regions during the winter months. There is a cycle in their make-up, and then they return to their original homes. Amazingly these birds know their flight patterns for they have followed these routes year after year.
Man has developed an intricate highway system on our planet that allows one to go from place to place, and town to town. It is all mapped-out, and is readily seen to know which way to go to get to the next destination. And yet, even with these clear markings and road signs, much of our population has lost their way. For their sight has been blinded by the spirit of this world.
However, God has developed a highway system that is not seen with human eyes, but through the eyes of the spirit can one see this way that is before them.
“Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee. Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established. Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil,” Proverbs 4:25-27.
We’re not quite ready yet to embark and leave behind our four walls, but soon we will.
“But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day,” Proverbs 4:18.
