The Light of The World!
A psalm to praise and sing to The LORD And SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST on His Birthday.
Happy Birthday JESUS!
The Light of The World
Once upon a night clear,
A Babe was born so dear
Lying in a lowly manger
In a stable in Bethlehem
Oh so precious, His Gaze,
A Gift of Hope He gave
Not just to the shepherds
And the three wise kings,
But to the whole world
He is the Light that shines in the darkness
A Light that will never be quenched
A Beacon of Hope for the sinner
The True Light who offers Life
Oh He is the Light of the World, yes He is…
They gathered round yonder
And looked upon Him in wonder
The angels’ proclamations
Brought the shepherds in from the fields
To witness God’s promise to Abraham:
An offspring innumerable as the stars;
The shoot from the stump of Jesse,
And a branch from his roots shall bear fruit
And the SPIRIT OF THE LORD shall rest upon Him
He is the Light that shines in the darkness
A Light that will never be quenched
A Beacon of Hope for the sinner
The True Light who offers Life
Oh He is the Light of the World, yes He is…
And when that Babe grew up
JESUS was His Name
He spoke to all who would hear and He said:
“I AM the Light of the World.
Whoever follows me
Will never walk in darkness
But will have the Light of Life.”
He is the Light that shines in the darkness
A Light that will never be quenched — JESUS!
A Beacon of Hope for the sinner
The True Light who offers Life — JESUS!

That Babe born so dear

Is still the same now as before:
In Him He offers the Gift of Hope to all
Oh He is the Light of the World, yes He is… JESUS!
“The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world.” John 1:9.
“This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.” 1 John 1:5.
“The Lord is my light and my salvation — whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?” Psalm 27:1.
“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” John 1:5.
“Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.’” John 8:12 NRSV.
“A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a branch will bear fruit.” Isaiah 11:1.
“After this, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision: “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward.”
But Abram said, “Sovereign Lord, what can you give me since I remain childless and the one who will inherit my estate is Eliezer of Damascus?” And Abram said, “You have given me no children; so a servant in my household will be my heir.”
Then the word of the Lord came to him: “This man will not be your heir, but a son who is your own flesh and blood will be your heir.” He took him outside and said, “Look up at the sky and count the stars—if indeed you can count them.” Then he said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” Genesis 15:1-5.
“Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”” Luke 2:11-14.

Amen sister! Every year around this time, the Lord always places a specific word and verse on my heart and this year it is LIGHT. Thank you for this encouragement to my Spirit!
