The Power of Personal Testimony
This morning I received a revelation in prayer that I want to share with you. Scripture makes clear that there is great power in testimony. Consider Revelation 12:11 as a prime example of this, “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony…”
As I pondered the power of testimony, I was reminded of a specific testimony. The man sharing was facing impossible odds. Yet in the face of losing everything he had, he remained steadfast and God came through.
God spoke up at this point and said, “One of the reasons testimony is powerful is that it is the manifestation of My word.” Immediately His words resonated in my spirit. I considered the impossible circumstances that I have faced at different points in my journey and how, as God overcame them, these impossibles became possible. Those possibles remained such only until they were DONE. We call these miracles.
I know the testimonies of what God has done in my life have awakened faith in others who had lost hope. They are my testimonies but they bear evidence of God’s work and the manifestation of His glory. Likewise, you have a testimony. At some point you have intersected with impossible only to find that through Christ it was in fact possible and have seen it all come to fruition.
Our testimonies bear witness to the truth of God’s word. It is His word alive in us which made them possible in the first place. As such I want to encourage you on two fronts.

If you haven’t already, share your testimony. If you have already, share it again! You never know how God’s word made alive through your testimony will impact others lives around you.

If God has spoken a word in your life, no matter how impossible it may seem, hold fast. Use the testimony of what He has already done as fuel to believe for what He will do.
In Christ every impossible becomes possible and every possible is done.
Our testimonies are not just words. They are manifestations of God’s transforming power in our lives. We don’t just speak them. We live them.
