The Preaching Competition
Thousands of preachers have left their calling to enter the world wide preaching competition. They spend hours listening for new truths, not to set people free but to see the applause and amen meter peg. Their ability to articulate My word has become their number one goal. As the listen to others they have no intention of applying but are gathering thoughts and ideas for their next competition. When they find one, in their excitement they say, THAT’ELL PREACH! Much of it is accurate and truthful, but it has no life hanging power.
Is no one troubled that in the last million services in the west, great truths are preached about the sinful condition of My church and the hard hearts of My people, and all I hear is applause, and yelling AMEN and PREACH IT! They have become spectators in the preaching competition and are unknowingly applauding about their own deplorable condition, instead of groaning, weeping and repenting over their sinful condition!
People follow the preachers that get the greatest applause and then they recruit there friends by saying, what’a preacher! This guy knows the word! He’ll have you on the edge of your seat! You gotta hear this guy. Even though My word preached by the best of the best, it does not profit the spectators, because it is not being mixed with faith in them that heard it,” Hebrews 4:2.
The spectators are no longer wanting a word from Me that will bring them into alignment with the kingdom, they just want to enjoy good preaching.
The apostate church is quickly being formed because this competitive preaching, produces applause rather than Godly sorrow and weeping. The competitive preaching talent operates with a self anointing, replacing My Holy Spirit anointing and excited spectators never distinguish between the two! The thrilled spectators leave the arenas deceived, not as doers of the word, but hearers only. [23] For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a mirror: [24] For he sees himself, and shouts AMEN PREACH IT! then goes his way, and immediately forgets what was what he looked like to Me,” James 1:22-24.
Stop running to all the preaching competitions and get in your prayer closet and cry out: Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: [24] And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting,” Psalm 139:23-24.
My kingdom is at hand and it’s past time for some serious repentance among the spectators.
