The Prophetic Scribe Anointing
The Prophetic Scribe Anointing
A.K.A Scribal Prophetic Ministry
A personal ministry
One of the first prophecies I received, in 1997, was “Have I not put a pen in your hand?”
It was given to me by Richard Fleming, now MD of TBN Europe, who, with his wife Pauline, also ran a year long prophetic training school, which I attended weekly.
I learned a great deal from them and I was given and developed a “prophetic scribe anointing”.
So what’s that when it’s at home?
The “Prophetic Scribe Anointing” refers to a spiritual gift where individuals are empowered by God to write with a prophetic purpose, expressing God’s heart and will through their writing.
This Anointing allows them to minister creatively, administratively, or instructionally, and is often characterized by a strong, sometimes unplanned flow of words and a deep connection to God’s Revelation.
Key aspects of the prophetic scribe anointing:
Prophetic purpose:
The core of this anointing is to be a conduit for God’s Prophetic Messages, Words, and Wisdom through writing.
Creative expressions:
This Anointing can manifest in various forms of writing, including creative works like novels, short stories, and biographies, as well as administrative documents, instructional materials, and more.
God’s Revelation:
Prophetic scribes are often deeply connected to God’s Voice and Vision, drawing inspiration from His Revelation and experiencing a strong, unplanned flow of Words.
Distinctive signs:
Some common signs include a constant desire to record what God reveals, a strong urge to write and express God’s heart, and the ability to see how God’s word fits into many things.
The Distinctive Signs of the Prophetic Scribe — Charisma Magazine 20 Apr 2021 — Individuals with a prophetic scribal anointing:
“Often pray, intercede or talk with God through their pen.
They tend to work out the issues of their creative expressions.”
In essence, the prophetic scribe anointing is a way for believers to use their writing gifts to serve God and His kingdom, expressing His message and vision through their pen.
A quotation to remember:
“Remember, a scribal prophet is a fully functioning prophet of Christ as we have come to understand the prophetic mantle within the context of the New Covenant. The only difference is that their calling is extremely specialized and tailored to “the scribal realm,” a place in the spirit where we are constantly living out the gifts placed inside us.
Because this dimension of “scribal ministry” is not very well understood in mainstream ministry and prophetic circles, scribal prophets can feel awkward, out of place, or even question whether or not they are prophets because their response to their office is quite different!
The understanding of a scribe, the ministry of the scribe, the prophetic scribe, the scribal prophet, the prophetic writer, etc. must be defined within its own merit. Right now, the apostolic-prophetic congregations (meaning leaders and pastors) are just awakening to what many of us have been doing for a very long time.”
— Quoted from Theresa Harvard Johnson

Chris Bennett came to salvation in 1962 but didn’t begin ministry until 2007 — a late-comer! Now mandated by The LORD to prophesy and open old wells of revival in the U.K., but especially in Wales. He has also operated Healing Rooms, and worked with deliverance teams, all with his wife, Linda. Happily now doing whatever The LORD asks of them! Founder, with wife Linda, of their ministry The Upper Room Encounter.
Thank you so much for these spiritual insights. Please Sir, is this the same as Prophetic Ministry? I asked because some Prophets can’t write what God must have shown or read and neither do they have modern day technology to reach out to their audiences. Rather, on face to face meeting, they speak God’s words to people or individuals. More Grace Sir.
Yes, it is one of the prophetic ministries – no more important, and no less important than any other. The Lord gives the gift of prophecy, then leads you the way He wants you to use it!
Thank you so much Sir for your kind response and clarification. May God grant you more Grace for greater spiritual insights Sir. Am grateful.
