The Thoughts of a Diligent Man
“The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want.” Proverbs 21:5 KJV.
A diligent man is one who is steady, focused, hardworking, earnest, thorough and persistent.
The Bible say when this man think, his thoughts leads to plenteousness.
How do his thoughts help him in life?
First he only think certain things — that which will benefit him.
The question you need to ask yourself is, how does your thinking help you?
Most people think about things that frustrate their efforts. They overthink on matters beyond their current control, that would have been easily solved if prayed about and left to God.
The problem with overthinking is in itself it won’t give you solutions.
Overthinking is not simply thinking deeply. It is the habit of replaying situations, imagining negative outcomes, and analyzing small details repeatedly until they drain your energy.
Instead of solving problems, overthinking magnifies them and a small issue becomes a huge crisis inside your mind.
Now The Bible says, “as a man thinkest so is he,” (Proverbs 23:7), so an over-thinker is the sum total of his uncontrolled thinking.
His life will be chaotic, because over thinking as I said, doesn’t give you solutions dispense fears.
Many people overthink because they want control.
The brain naturally tries to protect us from danger. So it scans for possible threats and worst-case scenarios.
The problem is, it does not always know the difference between real danger and imagined fear.
As a result, we suffer from problems that have not even happened.
Child of God, watch these signs of overthinking.
I have been there before! The sleepless nights, constant “what if” questions, fear of making decisions, and regretting past actions.
You may replay conversations and think, “I should have said this differently.”
This mental repetition creates emotional exhaustion.
The truth is, overthinking does not prevent pain it increases it.
It steals present peace by focusing on past mistakes or future worries. When we stay in our heads too long, we disconnect from reality and from the present moment where life is actually happening.
When temptation come to overthink Ask yourself: Is this fact or fear?
Focus on what you can control today. Live one day at a time.
Remember a teaching previous Sunday about REST.
Every word, promises and prophecies from God before the fulfillment, in the mean time give REST.
Shalom,
