Uzzah, Images and Influencers…
So many are looking for their image through the opinions of others, or what they see in the mirror, interpreting it through the lens of the world, where they increase in their own eyes, whether it be positive or negative.
To fade away and know the Glory of God is our aim here in this life on earth, as we shine the Light of Jesus. John the Baptist knew this as he proclaimed, that he must decrease in order that Christ in him increases, and all his desire was, was to hear the voice of the Bridegroom calling for His beloved.
The noise of the soul, longs to put the image of “self,” to something that would bring attention to us, detracting from the power of the message, which is Christ in us, the Hope of Glory!
It might just be me, but I get repulsed by seeing the images of a person to something meaningful, that’s not a testimony about them or prayer for them, but simply something that has power in the message, when then you see their face, and all it does is bring attention to their image, falling FLAT.
It’s like eating something sweet, only to find it leaving a sour taste afterwards, whereby you want to simply spit it out.
The sweetness of Christ, and the Goodness of God are for God’s Glory alone, and not mankind.
If we touch that which is of Christ and God, putting our image to something in which God alone gets the glory, and it’s not a testimony or prayer request, it is no different than being like Uzzah who touched the Ark of Covenant, to keep it from falling.
“Again David gathered together all the chosen men of Israel, 30,000. And [he] arose and went with all the people who were with him to Baale-judah [Kiriath-jearim] to bring up from there the ark of God, which is called by the name of The LORD of hosts, Who sits enthroned above the cherubim. And they set the ark of God upon a new cart and brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill; and Uzzah and Ahio, sons of Abinadab, drove the new cart. And they brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill, with the ark of God; and Ahio went before the ark. And David and all the house of Israel played before The LORD with all their might, with songs, lyres, harps, tambourines, castanets, and cymbals. And when they came to Nacon’s threshing floor, Uzzah put out his hand to the ark of God and took hold of it, for the oxen stumbled and shook it. And the anger of The LORD was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for touching the ark, and he died there by the ark of God. David was grieved and offended because The LORD had broken forth upon Uzzah, and that place is called Perez-uzzah [the breaking forth upon Uzzah] to this day.” 2 Samuel 6:1-8 AMPC.
Do you see this?
Mankind was making a big show about the Ark of Covenant in the flesh, not in accordance with God’s way, but instead in doing it the way David thought it ought to be done.
As a result, God’s Glory was treated as common, where man would attach his own image to God in the flesh, not knowing the result would be death.
Uzzah in Hebrew means strength. When we attach ourselves to that which is God’s alone, it’s as though we’re giving God’s glory strength, no different than Uzzah putting his hand to The Ark of God.
In my season of being in a ditch of The Fear of The LORD between 2002-2007, I thank God, because in it, I learned true reverential and worshipful Fear of The LORD, not giving honor to myself, attaching myself to that which was God’s glory, but decreasing, fading away!
I don’t want to see pictures of other people’s faces, when something is not about them but God, and is to give Glory to Him alone!
However, because we’re so desensitized to the Fear of The LORD, we, no different than Uzzah, plaster our face with every opportunity we can find, attaching our own image, to something that is not a testimony or prayer request about God in us the Hope of Glory, but something that is about God alone, and cause whatever message might have come through or been meant in humility to fall flat and powerless!
“John answered, A man can receive nothing [he can claim nothing, he can take unto himself nothing] except as it has been granted to him from heaven. [A man must be content to receive the gift which is given him from heaven; there is no other source.] You yourselves are my witnesses [you personally bear me out] that I stated, I am not the Christ (the Anointed One, the Messiah), but I have [only] been sent before Him [in advance of Him, to be His appointed forerunner, His messenger, His announcer]. He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the groomsman who stands by and listens to him rejoices greatly and heartily on account of the bridegroom’s voice. This then is my pleasure and joy, and it is now complete. He must increase, but I must decrease. [He must grow more prominent; I must grow less so.] He Who comes from above (heaven) is [far] above all [others]; he who comes from the earth belongs to the earth, and talks the language of earth [his words are from an earthly standpoint]. He Who comes from heaven is [far] above all others [far superior to all others in prominence and in excellence]. It is to what He has [actually] seen and heard that He bears testimony, and yet no one accepts His testimony [no one receives His evidence as true]. Whoever receives His testimony has set his seal of approval to this: God is true. [That man has definitely certified, acknowledged, declared once and for all, and is himself assured that it is divine truth that God cannot lie]. For since He Whom God has sent speaks the words of God [proclaims God’s own message], God does not give Him His Spirit sparingly or by measure, but boundless is the gift God makes of His Spirit! The Father loves the Son and has given (entrusted, committed) everything into His hand. And he who believes in (has faith in, clings to, relies on) the Son has (now possesses) eternal life. But whoever disobeys (is unbelieving toward, refuses to trust in, disregards, is not subject to) the Son will never see (experience) life, but [instead] the wrath of God abides on him. [God’s displeasure remains on him; His indignation hangs over him continually.]” John 3:27-36 AMPC.
The Greek word for decrease in John 3:30 is elattóō pronounced el-at-to’-o meaning, “to lessen in rank or influence, to decrease, make lower.” (Strong’s Concordance Word #G1642)
Do you see this? This Greek Word is saying that we are to decrease in influence!
What are those on social media called in this Information Age? Influencers!
When you have to always attach your image to something that is to give God glory alone, you’re not decreasing your influence, but God’s influence, in the message, to where it falls flat!
Saints, we must learn this now; many are backslidden, caught up in the world’s image, living a life of deception!
It is not about us, it is about Christ, about God!
When I do a post, at The LORD’s leading, I treat the picture I’m to put with the post, like the skilled worker anointed with Wisdom, who was called of God to work on His Holy Temple.
This, saints of God, is reverential Fear, not touching God’s Glory.
Where is this among The Saints on social media?
A saint crying out to God for fullness of deliverance and the manifestation of salvation.
