What Would Such a King Do?
- Are you refusing to Humble Yourself?
- Are you being arrogant at times, with an attitude of exalting yourself above others?
- Do you really believe you are so great at what you can do that others should actually be afraid of your high-mindedness?
- Have you become so humanly powerful in your own eyes that you have become no godly good to serve a King?
- What do you think such a King should do?
The devil is a total liar. Everything you have read so far is precisely what he does.
Deception is his tool that he uses against you. He entices you to actually believe that your arrogance is well deserved. That you are to be exalted above all else to your own glory.
But what does The LORD, the King, say?
- “I desire mercy and not sacrifice”.
- “He has shown you, oh man, what is good. And what does The LORD require of you but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?”
- ” It is in humility, and the fear (reverence) of The LORD are riches, honor and life…” and,
- “Humble yourself in the sight of The LORD and He will lift you up.”
Even as Peter was saying to Jesus concerning being taken by the the High Priest to be crucified, “LORD, this will not happen to you,” Jesus knew exactly where Peter’s response was really coming from.
“Away from Me, Satan, for you do not savor the things of God but the things of men,” Mark 8:33
Jesus knew full well the purpose for which He was sent, and the devil was trying to use the emotions of Peter to hinder Jesus’s purpose for which He was sent.
Jesus humbled Himself before His Father, even to His death on the Cross.
“For this purpose was the Son of God manifest, to destroy the works of the evil one.” 1 John 3:8
The work that lead to the Cross; all the healings, miracles, signs and wonders, are all works of the Father, for Jesus said:
“I always do what I see My Father do, therefore it is He that is doing the works.” John 5:19
He took no credit to Himself for the things that took place in His ministry to the masses.
All the works that He did, it is said in scripture that all the books in the world that have been written could not contain all the things that He did.
Yet He gave all the glory of those things to the Father that sent Him.
“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. And we beheld His glory, the glory of the only begotten Son of the Father, full of grace, and truth.” John 1:14
