Where Did the Heralds Go?

Time to Get Serious
I think most preaching these days really underestimates how much The LORD expects of us, since we have been given so much.
To whom much is given, much is required (Luke 12v48).
Don’t believe a Western-version of Christianity which says you must only follow Christ from a distance.
Don’t even believe that you must only ‘follow’ Him at all.
What about giving your heart to Him?
What about being passionate about Him?
What about serving Him? What about testifying of Him?
What about giving Him EVERYTHING?
We have severely underestimated what it means to believe in Christ.
What it means to be a Disciple.
What it means to be Servant.
What it means to be His Child.
What it means to be a Witness.
We have severely underestimated how much grace is intended to transform us.
Underestimated what He intended grace to do in us and ultimately THROUGH US.
Although it is true that it is only by grace that we are saved, we can easily ignore the fact that the only way we can know we have said ‘saving-grace’ is if there are the main evidences of that grace at work in and through us.
What a thing to underestimate; as the dream below makes crystal clear, the stakes couldn’t be any higher..
Time to get serious.Really serious…..!
Where Did the Heralds Go?
“Then he said, “Go into the world. Go everywhere and announce the Message of God’s good news to one and all.” Mark 16:15.
Heralding The Gospel today has largely been drowned out by culture and tradition.
Culture tells us what is appropriate and tradition tells us what is accepted.
The problem with this approach, which is also usually ascribed to by the modern Church, is that the most urgent and important thing to humanity; the soul, is regarded as of secondary importance to everything else.
People’s temporary comfort, so called ‘rights’ (which ironically only come from God anyway), their temporary wellbeing, and their own idea of what is respectable and important supersedes their vital need to hear about the only thing that can save them from Hell and the power of the Devil, send them to Heaven, and restore their relationship with God.
We have forgotten the heralding of The Gospel, because we have aligned ourselves with the culture, tradition and shallow thinking of our time.
We have stopped heralding The Gospel, yet we bemoan the wicked culture and traditions of our time as though it’s the world’s fault (when was the world ever naturally Christian?).
Then we ourselves subscribe to that culture and those traditions, thereby offering nothing to counter a wicked society or provide it with the true remedy (The Gospel which not only reforms outward behaviour but redeems the inward soul and life).
We must get back to heralding and proclaiming The Gospel.
No other remedy will do what we think it should, because The Gospel is the foundation, protection and producer of everything good that agrees with and emanates from The Gospel.
If we continue to ignore the book of Acts and God’s main way of saving souls, the world will continue to perish for lack of understanding.
We must get back to proclaiming The Gospel.
God’s culture, tradition, and clearly spoken will must once again supersede and become more important than the culture, tradition and thinking of our day.
If it doesn’t, nothing will change as much as it should, and we will continue to wonder why, and continue to blame all the wrong things.
Proclaiming comes by sharing with the one just as it does with the many. The point is, that we must get back to sharing our Faith!
We must get back to doing what Jesus commanded we do, what the book of Acts modeled we do, and what the Apostles called us to.
If we don’t, culture, tradition, distractions and shallowness will continue to drown us in a stupor, in spiritual sleep, and continue to make us worldly.
Whereas if we do, the modern Church and society itself stands a chance of surviving, perhaps even thriving.

Wir unterschätzen völlig, dass wir nach göttlichem Ebenbild geschaffen wurden. Wenn wir dies begreifen, würde uns die Nachfolge in Fleisch und Blut übergehen.
