“Batten down the hatches!
There’s a storm coming!
High force, gale winds.”
I had just heard these words before waking up with a start.
As I awoke I was hearing, “Winds of opposition….”
I opened the Scriptures and immediately the Spirit highlighted Matthew 8:23-27,
“When He went into the boat His disciples followed Him and behold, a great storm came on the lake so the boat was covered by the waves, but He was sleeping. And then they came and woke Him saying, “Lord, You must save us, we are lost.
Then He said to them “Little faiths, why are you cowards?“ Then after He got up He rebuked the winds and the lake and a great calm came. And the men marvelled, “What sort is this that even the winds and the lake will obey Him?”
Jesus’ destination was the other side to confront the territorial spirit. Waves of opposition arose in the waters crossing over but Jesus rested through it all.
The enemy knew He was coming and put up a fuss, all it could muster to stop Him. Waves crashed OVER the boat and Jesus slept. Those around Him were frightened and woke Him up and cried for help.
Jesus had to demonstrate His authority of the storm, so they could do it too. He stood up and spoke to the wind and the waves — He didn’t do it lying down. The disciples marveled at the authority He had over nature.
The storm that is coming is the enemy knowing he is in trouble, because The Army of God is rising and will realize the authority they have in Christ to tell the chaos to cease and peace to reign.
The evil plots of the wicked ones are about to be revealed. But a shaking will happen and we must ride ON the waves. We will ride out the storm and in some cases, tell it to cease and it will cease.
We must be prepared in our hearts with scripture and faith to stand up against all opposition and use our authority to cast out demons and calm the sea.
What did Jesus meet on the other side? Two demoniac men out of whom Jesus cast a legion of demons into some swine who rushed over a cliff and drowned in the water.
The people nearby heard about it and instead of being grateful, they asked Jesus to leave. They had tolerated the evil spirits and also conformed to them. They didn’t want change or to be free.
The whole city came to see Jesus and then asked Him to leave them alone. Sometimes we will not be welcome when we bring change to a place. Some hearts will be open and others will be closed to The Spirit of God.
Focus on the victory ahead! Do not focus on the waves and wind, the distractions of the world around you.
We will roar at the enemy and when we enter new opportunities and nothing will stop us! There might be resistance but with the resurrected dunamis power of the resurrected Christ in us, all hell will bow down and leave us alone.
We will overcome and be victorious because we have the Spirit of the living God inside of us.
“Greater is He that is in you, than He that is in the world,” 1 John 4:4.
