Winds of Opposition are Coming
“Batten down the hatches!
There’s a storm coming!
High force, gale winds.”
I had just heard these words before waking up with a start.
As I awoke I was hearing, “Winds of opposition….”
I opened the Scriptures and immediately the Spirit highlighted Matthew 8:23-27,
“When He went into the boat His disciples followed Him and behold, a great storm came on the lake so the boat was covered by the waves, but He was sleeping. And then they came and woke Him saying, “Lord, You must save us, we are lost.
Then He said to them “Little faiths, why are you cowards?“ Then after He got up He rebuked the winds and the lake and a great calm came. And the men marvelled, “What sort is this that even the winds and the lake will obey Him?”
Jesus’ destination was the other side to confront the territorial spirit. Waves of opposition arose in the waters crossing over but Jesus rested through it all.
The enemy knew He was coming and put up a fuss, all it could muster to stop Him. Waves crashed OVER the boat and Jesus slept. Those around Him were frightened and woke Him up and cried for help.
Jesus had to demonstrate His authority of the storm, so they could do it too. He stood up and spoke to the wind and the waves — He didn’t do it lying down. The disciples marveled at the authority He had over nature.
The storm that is coming is the enemy knowing he is in trouble, because The Army of God is rising and will realize the authority they have in Christ to tell the chaos to cease and peace to reign.
The evil plots of the wicked ones are about to be revealed. But a shaking will happen and we must ride ON the waves. We will ride out the storm and in some cases, tell it to cease and it will cease.
We must be prepared in our hearts with scripture and faith to stand up against all opposition and use our authority to cast out demons and calm the sea.
What did Jesus meet on the other side? Two demoniac men out of whom Jesus cast a legion of demons into some swine who rushed over a cliff and drowned in the water.
The people nearby heard about it and instead of being grateful, they asked Jesus to leave. They had tolerated the evil spirits and also conformed to them. They didn’t want change or to be free.
The whole city came to see Jesus and then asked Him to leave them alone. Sometimes we will not be welcome when we bring change to a place. Some hearts will be open and others will be closed to The Spirit of God.
Focus on the victory ahead! Do not focus on the waves and wind, the distractions of the world around you.
We will roar at the enemy and when we enter new opportunities and nothing will stop us! There might be resistance but with the resurrected dunamis power of the resurrected Christ in us, all hell will bow down and leave us alone.
We will overcome and be victorious because we have the Spirit of the living God inside of us.
“Greater is He that is in you, than He that is in the world,” 1 John 4:4.

As I woke this morning, I heard “Day of Preparation”, first thought in my head coming out of bed. I wondered about that and have been reflecting on it when I read this word. The Jewish Day of Preparation was always to finish the work and prepare for the Sabbath day ahead when no work could be done. Maybe this is a warning we are to prepare for the storm ahead and ultimately the Lord’s day or “Day of the Lord”.
Wow, Mark, that is awesome. We are in the day of preparation. Also Rosh Hashana starts Sept 18 and that is the Jewish New Year, when God opens our books and reviews where we are in alignment with what He has written there from the foundations of the earth. This is a time of repentance, refiners fire, and adjusting our lives to be in total alignment so we can stand what is ahead. Bless you my brother!
Awesome. This is incredible word from our Heavenly Father. Thank You for clarity Beloved Rusch. Timely words of encouragement through the challenges that I’m going through. Thank You Woman of God for the anointing and the word for the hour. May the Lord continue to enlarge your territory and be the voice of healing and restoration.
Thank you and bless you for your comments. I pray peace over you and may the Lord guide every step you take. Just take them one step at a time, always in His direction and you will never stray off course! Blessings!
Hallelujah! What an awesome word of the VICTORY we have in and through Christ and His name! I declare I WILL USE HIS AUTHORITY to keep me balanced and at peace in the storms that are coming. Increase our FAITH to believe Lord Jesus; keep us steady in our Rock-solid position in You! Amen.
Amen Judy! And what authority He has given us when we go through the trials and have passed the tests. Be at peace and be blessed!
It is getting real , after I read 4 or 5 others , yours just didn’t show up , it won’t work even I tried 5 or 7 times; so I start to pray against my enemy … sure enough , the victory HAS WON ! Jesus Christ our lord and savior is the one who fight our battle , so he shall be the one to receive all the glory , honor and praise, Amen !!!
