This message is from my devotional reading for today.

This Word helps Christians get on the same page with God’s Word and will for our lives.

We are chosen of God to be different and set a good example of godliness.

Our behavior should provoke the world to jealousy — seeing that we have the favor and blessing of The LORD.

Good morning.

The morning Word today is coming from my devotion, and it’s about conflict, and the author states, what is my question for God?

What is the best way to respond to conflict?

Having a moment with God in Scripture, Romans 12:19-21, 1 Peter 3:9-11 and Matthew 5:43-45, and they read, Dear friends, never take revenge.

Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the scripture says, I will take revenge. I will pay back, says The LORD.

Instead, if your enemies are hungry, feed them. If they are thirsty, give them something to drink. In doing this, you would heat burning coals of shame on their heads.

Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good. Don’t repay evil for evil. Don’t retaliate with insults when people insult you.

Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and he will bless you for it.

Search for peace and work to maintain it. In the last scripture, Matthew 5:43-45 reads, You have heard the law that says, Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.  But I say, love your enemies. Pray for those who prosecute you or persecute you.

In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven.

The path to peace lies in the power of love, not in the power of loving to have power, not in the love of power.

Followers of God know better than to take revenge into their own hands. They know that fighting according to the world’s ways continues the cycle of conflict.

Instead, practice the principle of paradox. Bless your enemy. Give when you feel threatened and feed those who will take your food.

Following this principle is a situation in which a conflict it unleashes God’s power, which can resolve conflict that from a human standpoint could not be solved.

God blesses those who work for peace, for they will be called the children of God.

That’s Matthew 5:9.  So this is a reminder to Christian people. It’s actually a reminder to all people wanting to know how to handle conflict, especially as Christians.

We are to be the example to all of the world. We are to provoke the world to envy and jealousy, that we are in right standing and right relationship with The LORD, that we have the blessing of The LORD that make it rich and added no sorrow with it because we follow the word of God and the plan of God for our lives.

God created us in love.    He loved us so much that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth on him should not perish but have everlasting life.

So whatever we did in sin, Heavenly Father had to forgive us before he could save us. Before he could extend salvation through his son Jesus, he forgave us.

He forgave the creatures that he created in his image and likeness that disappointed him so in the beginning by sinning.

So this is a word of encouragement today on how to handle the conflict. You would do it absolutely opposite of how a worldly person, an unsafe person would do it.

You would not try to take revenge. You would not try to get the last lick. You would give God glory.

You would give God honor and grace by being obedient and following the word of The LORD, which is turning the other cheek.

“For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.”    Titus 2:11-14.

“Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.  Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, and a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.  But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light,”  1 Peter 2:6-9.

“Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.”   Matthew 5:9.

“Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.  But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; that ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.”   Matthew 5:43-45.

“Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith The LORD.  Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.  Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.”   Romans 12:19-21.

“Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.  For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.”   1 Peter 3:9-11.
