Water and Spirit
I read this Scripture in John 3, then listened to the conversation between Jesus and Nicodemus.
” Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.”” John 3:5.
Close attention is given to “Born of Water and Spirit….”
No one can enter The Kingdom of God unless he is born of Water and Spirit. (John 3:1-12)
I was baptized at age 11. I remember the cold water and a feeling that I never experienced.
Going to Church was different for me after baptism.
Incidents happened where chills and warmth flowed through my body during Church Services.
It was an unexplainable feeling. Actually, as a child it was frightening.
I started to see things in Dreams and Visions.
Certain places I went had already been visited in my dreams. People’s faces were familiar, because they were in my dreams — but I kept quiet because I did not want people to think I was mad.
As I read this verse today, curious thoughts came to mind.
I asked The LORD this question: Can a person be born of water and not Spirit at baptism and salvation?
And The LORD Said, “Faith and Belief must work together. A person cannot have one without the other.”
Genesis 22:1-18, Hebrews 11:8-17, John 20:24-29.
A person who lies and says he believes, is still a sinner. This person cannot be born of the Spirit.
“But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession, and kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles’ feet. But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God. And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.” Acts 5:1-5, Romans 10:8-17.
“The Spirit is Truth daughter — it cannot lie.
The Holy Spirit will not enter into unbelief.
In this case you just have a wet sinner, unredeemed.”
“If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.” John 14:15-17.
“Nevertheless I tell you The Truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, The Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they believe not on me; of righteousness, because I go to My Father, and ye see me no more; of Judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when He, The Spirit of Truth, is come, He will guide you into all Truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come. He shall glorify Me: for He shall receive of Mine, and shall shew it unto you.” John 16:7-14.
Talking Points
What does the Son of Perdition mean?
“While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name. Those whom You gave Me I have kept; and none of them is lost except the son of [d]perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled.” John 17:12.
The Great Apostasy
“Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.” 2 Thessalonians 2:1-4.
