A Warning on Social Media Controversies
I am not one who believes that everything, especially what unfolds on social media, requires public commentary.
However, at this point, I am observing that the controversy surrounding this [Jamaican] “Spice and Daniella Conference” is becoming a major distraction from the weightier matters God is calling His People to discern.
The enemy knows how to use controversy to divide people into camps, one side defending compromise, another side attacking people personally, while very few return to the Word and ask, “Lord, what are You requiring of us?
Controversies also can become more than a disagreement about one conference, one speaker, or one lineup.
They pull the Body of Christ away from issues that are more critical such repentance, holiness, justice, sound doctrine, deliverance, intercession, national corruption, violence, children, families, poverty, idolatry, spiritual deception, and the salvation of souls.
I thought about this and was reminded of the passage of scripture in the Book of Hosea:
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee.” Hosea 4:6 KJV.
That verse is not just about people not having information.
It is about rejecting the Knowledge of God, rejecting His Law, His Ways, His Truth, His Correction, His Order, His Holiness.
In Hosea 4, God was confronting a nation where truth, mercy, and the knowledge of God had diminished, while swearing, lying, killing, stealing, adultery, and bloodshed increased.
But Hosea shows us that when a people reject the knowledge of God, destruction follows not because God delights in rejecting them, but because rejection of truth removes the covering that truth provides.
Jamaica does not need more spiritual entertainment — Jamaica needs repentance.
Jamaica needs righteous leadership.
Jamaica needs protection for children.
Jamaica needs deliverance from bloodshed, corruption, idolatry, witchcraft, sexual perversion, injustice, and spiritual blindness.
Jamaica needs the Church to arise as salt and light, not as a mirror of entertainment culture.
The Nations do not need a Church drunk on celebrity! They need a Church anchored in Truth.
The Body of Christ must not get trapped in endless commentary while the real burdens of The LORD are being ignored.
We must Return to the Word… Return to The Fear of The LORD… Return to Discernment… Return to Repentance… Return to Holiness… Return to Intercession… Return to The Knowledge of God!
Shalom
