A Word and Prayer for His Mercy –
That Will Reset Your Day!
“O LORD, don’t hold back your tender mercies from me! My only hope is in your love and faithfulness. Otherwise I perish, for problems far too big for me to solve are piled higher than my head,” Psalm 40:11-12.
I sense that many of you are feeling like the Psalmist, in that you feel that your problems are higher than your head.
But I hear Him saying, “Call for My Mercy every morning and know that I AM able to help you!”
Many years ago when I went through a dark night of the soul, God began to deal with me about the understanding that His mercy is new every morning — that no matter what happened the day before, that He was always there to heal the harm that the day before had caused, and the pour the oil of gladness back into my weary soul.
There are days that you wake up feeling the weight of the mess before you even get started, but God is there waiting to Restore your soul, mind, will and emotions daily.
“It is because of the LORD’s mercy and loving-kindness that we are not consumed, because His [tender] compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great and abundant is Your stability and faithfulness,” Lamentations 3:22-23.
If we do not understand that His Mercy is new every single day and that He is always there to help us with this pile of mess that we usually have gotten ourselves into.
If we do not believe that He is good and that He loves us and that His mercy is there every morning for us to access as we come into His presence, then we are of men most miserable.
We can only go so long not turning to Him for mercy and grace before our soul (mind, will, and emotions) crack under the weight of that pile!
If we do not give Him the pile on a daily basis and ask for his wisdom and strength to conquer it soon we become despondent, overwhelmed, and yes we become sick in our bodies!
God did not create us to be able to deal with more than one days worth of troubles at a time!
Many of His teachings, when He was here on earth was about not taking thought for tomorrow. He wants us to understand our limitations but in this we learn that we depend on Him for daily strength, healing, help etc..
He wants us to understand that when we are weak, then His strength is made perfect in us. So He made the new day for us to renew and recharge. His great mercy makes this possible.
If he had not taught me this many years ago, I would not still be here today!
I learned a long time ago that in life there will be messes that happen and as I said many of them are self inflicted, but we have to understand that his love and mercy for us is greater than our mess and that He made a reset button for us to push every day and it is to understand that His mercy is new every morning!
LORD, today we come to You, asking You to forgive us as we forgive those who sin against us an as we do we ask for Your Mercy to be poured out on us and upon our new day!
We thank You that even though we have messes that have happened to us through other people we forgive them and ask you to bless them!
We ask you to forgive us LORD for our part in the messes and ask for Your Mercy that is new for us today to be able to reset our lives on the path that you have for us today!
We call upon you for grace to do your good pleasure and strength to do it!
Thank you Papa that you are a good Father who has a good pan for our life and that you are always there to pick us up when we are down and out on a daily basis!
Thank You Jesus for being touched with the feeling of our infirmities so that you would know what we go through and so that you could be our faithful and compassionate High Priest who is ever interceding for us!
We receive Your Love and Mercy today BECAUSE IT IS GREATER THAN ALL OF OUR MESS!
In Jesus’ Name! Amen!!
