A Prayer from my heart….

I’m hurting at the sheer madness that has gripped the world these past days.

I’m hurting at the anger and venom, the incredible bigotry and hypocrisy.

BUT — the hurt I feel is nothing compared to our heavenly Father’s hurt at our foolish, sinful ways.

Yet the greatest hurt of all to God is the way the Christian community has been split down the middle, and the way in which the same worldly anger and venom is being thrown at brothers and sisters in Christ.

I feel The LORD’s heart breaking, His warm wet tears running down my cheeks.

I feel His anger at us having let Him down yet again.

I hear the Hosts of Heaven grieving with Him.

I even hear the hordes of hell gloating, “They’ll soon be ours!”

Even so, I see The LORD stir once more.

With an angry edge to His voice, I hear Him reply to Satan, “Over My body!” And He laid Himself on The Cross yet again!

What Love, what sacrifice, as we crucify Him one more time — as He dies one more time for us!

I hear the Father speak, “If My People, who are called by my name, will turn from their wickedness and repent, then I will hear from heaven, and I will heal their land.

I WILL send My Spirit. He WILL come to you in power and great glory. I WILL heal your land.”

I feel His pain and anguish over us this morning.

I feel His longing for us to return to Him in unity again — to turn to Him at all!

I am convicted by His presence. I am overpowered by His Love and Mercy.

Forgive me LORD! Please please forgive me. I have done wrong.

Have mercy upon a sinner such as me! Forgive me again and begin to heal our land.

I receive you afresh this morning.

Forgive me.
