Beyond the Surface: Why So Many Are Being Kept in a State of Chase
I have been thinking deeply about how much of what we call “normal life” is actually shaping people away from stillness, away from discernment, and away from the Presence of God.
Many people think what we are seeing is only about economics, ambition, inflation, or the natural pressures of life. But I believe there is something deeper operating beneath the surface.
We are living in a system that keeps people chasing.
Some chase because they do not have enough.
Others chase because what they have is still not enough in other words the poor chase to survive while the rich chase to preserve, expand, and maintain.
Different expressions, same condition; perpetual motion — and perpetual motion is dangerous because it leaves little room for stillness, prayer, meditation on The Word, or deep communion with God.
This is why I believe we must discern the Spiritual Pattern behind what has become normal.
Babylon is “The System”
Babylon is The System — it is the order of confusion, commerce, pride, seduction, self-sufficiency, and dependence on man’s structures instead of God.
It conditions people to live from pressure, fear, performance, and endless demand.
Within that system, mammon works through fear of lack, false security, and the constant pursuit of provision apart from trust in God.
Mammon teaches people that safety is in money, peace is in increase, and worth is in output.
Then there is the pattern of Baal, false worship, corrupted fruitfulness, and the sacrificing of what is holy in order to obtain what is desired.
Time with God is sacrificed. Rest is sacrificed. Purity is sacrificed. Family is sacrificed. Peace is sacrificed. All to keep up, get ahead, maintain, survive, or gain access.
That is why this is not just about money….
It is about Worship.
It is about Trust.
It is about what governs the soul!
The enemy does not always pull people away from God through obvious rebellion. Sometimes he does it through exhaustion, distraction, and chronic preoccupation.
If a person is always mentally occupied, emotionally stretched, financially burdened, and inwardly restless, they are less likely to become still enough to discern what God is saying — and that is strategic!
- A person who is still before God begins to see clearly.
- A person who rests in God becomes harder to manipulate through fear.
- A person who knows God as Source becomes harder to enslave by the pressures of the age.
That is why so many are struggling to slow down.
The reason why noise is everywhere and why even spiritual spaces can become full of commentary but empty of true communion.
We must be honest enough to ask:
- Have we become so busy trying to live that we no longer know how to be still?
- Have we accepted striving as normal?
- Have we mistaken movement for fruitfulness?
- Have we allowed the system to disciple our minds more than the Spirit of Truth?
This is not a call to laziness. Not a call to denial of real responsibilities. Rather this is a call to discernment!
There is a difference between work and bondage.
There is a difference between stewardship and being mastered by mammon.
There is a difference between diligence and drivenness.
I believe The Most High is calling His People to come out of agreement with fear-driven living, chronic striving, and the subtle idol of constant pursuit.
Because at some point we have to ask:
- What has this system cost us spiritually?
- What have we lost in the secret place?
- How much clarity has been drowned out by pressure, bills, fear, and endless demand?
Babylon builds The Structure.
Mammon drives The Chase.
Baal receives The Worship.
May God open our eyes to see what is beneath the surface.
May He break every false dependency.
May He restore holy stillness and may He teach His people again how to live from Presence and not from pressure.
“Be still, and know that I am God…” Psalm 46:10.
“Ye cannot serve God and mammon.” Matthew 6:24.
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness…” Matthew 6:33.
Shalom
