Do You Really Know Him?
Many people assume that just because they talk about God, it’s clear proof they know Him, forgetting that Satan knows Him and believes in His existence.
But simply talking about Him isn’t enough!
You must know Him with the intimacy of a much-loved child to a father.
In this intimate relationship with Him, your life becomes entwined with His as one, your heart beats for the things that His heart beats for…
Many have a form of godliness, but not the life-giving power of the Spirit of God within; they have thought that belief, and a mental ascent to God’s existence was enough to gain them access to God.
In the Old Testament, we hear of the story of Job, who was an upright and just man. In fact, God Himself sang Job’s praises to Satan — but still, Job did not have the intimate relationship with Yahweh that he would later establish.
Job had to come to a startling realization that he did not really know this God Who he claimed to serve.
Job himself, after arguing for a long time, acknowledged:
“I had heard of you by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye has seen you. Therefore I repent; I repent in dust and ashes.” Job 42:5-6.
How many of us speak of God without knowing Him?
Our mouths are filled with biblical verses and impressive praises.
However, speaking of Him does not indicate that we have known Him, but only that we have heard of Him.
The crucial moment of knowing God comes with accepting Christ into our lives, as LORD and Master of our lives.
It is only through Christ that our spirit-man within comes alive, and we have access to God the Father as our Beloved Father.
Christ is the Doorway, the One and only Mediator between God and man; without Him, there is absolutely no entrance to life in God.
“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12.
Prayer
Father, Today we contemplate Christ, Your Beloved Son, who took upon Himself our sinful likeness in order to present us with His perfect righteousness, so that we could be reconnected with You, our Father.
This was His mission from before the foundation of the earth.
He is not simply a good idea, or a moral code to follow — He is the Living Christ Whose sacrifice on our behalf demands a response from sinful human lives desperately in need of a Savior, a Mediator and Go-between to the Father for us.
It is in Christ alone to Whom we must give our lives and whole-hearted allegiance.
Our access to the Father is solely through Him, there are no other mediators, only Jesus Christ; the Only Begotten of the Father, Son the living God.
From the depths of our being may we cry out to this Righteous Advocate, Yeshua for our salvation and transformation.
May we give ourselves wholly to Him whose Blood speaks on the Mercy seat for us.
May Father open the way
for each one of us to respond to His Christ
as our Only Door… to Him
to Whom be Glory, Honor and Majesty Forever
Amen.
