Father, I Thank You for the Cross!
My Father, I thank You for the Cross
The wages of sin paid at the ultimate cost.
Purchased by the sinless Blood of Christ
Forever grateful for this supreme sacrifice.
Father, I thank You for the empty tomb.
Resurrection Life released; the darkness consumed.
Evil’s hold broken off the children of earth
Given now a choice to receive the new birth.
Father, I thank you I can start anew.
My slate’s clean; Your holiness to pursue.
No longer a slave to darkness and sin
Filled now with Resurrection Life deep within.
Father, I thank you with a grateful heart.
Resurrection Day was only the start
Of many being conformed to the image of the Son
As part of the harvest, on the Cross HE won.
My gratitude explodes like a supernova of light
To pen these verses, just to give You delight,
Thanking You for Your great plan of Salvation
As I join in with Heaven in ecstatic jubilation.
Happy Resurrection Day!
