God’s Greatest Desire (Part 2)

Friends, as I meditate on this powerful Revelation today, as I take time to deeply Marinade in the Oil of this Truth, it gives me pause to keep Listening and Leaning in…

And I submit, given that we are made, created in the Full Image and Likeness of The Godhead (See Genesis 1:26-27) it should come as no surprise that the echo of The Father’s Own Heart’s Desire resounds within each of us.

If it is God’s Greatest Desire To Be Known, in all His Holiness, Power, Glory, Majesty and Love, then He has placed within the Heart of Mankind a corresponding longing — a deep desire to Be Known…

Again, this is by Divine Design…

The same Creator Who yearns for Intimate Covenant Relationship with His Creation, has wired us with a God-shaped capacity not only to Know Him, but to be Known by Him…

And, when this deep longing is turned TOWARD the Father — when we allow Him to make Himself Known to us in Truth — something amazing happens!

True Identity is established and God Purposed Destiny is realised!

It’s from that place of being deeply Known and Loved by the One who formed us, that true God-given Anointing, Authority and Power flows.

• We no longer strive to have to prove ourselves to anyone.
• We fully rest in the Security of Covenant Relationship.
• We become Ambassadors and Divine Reflectors of His Glory rather than chasers of our own, or that of Another.

🔥  Watch!  The Tragedy of Misdirected Desires

Yet it makes me think.  How often has this Holy and Sacred God given longing been twisted and distorted?

Instead of us running toward The Father, to where the deep longing and cry to be Known finds its only true satisfaction and fulfillment, mankind has turned that same desire Inward and outward and toward the SELF.

This has produced the fruit of selfish ambition, self-promotion and selfish gain.

• We have craved to be Known by men. 
• We’ve laboured tirelessly to be seen, acknowledged and celebrated by mere men.
• We’ve built for ourselves  platforms so our names shine in lights…
• We have hungered and thirsted for relevance and to be followed and applauded — and admired!

All while still remaining strangely discontented and unfulfilled with the Highest honor of all — ”Simply being seen by God!”

We have struggled with being hidden in The Secret Place and we have not been satisfied with simply being Known intimately by The Father.

Being “Approved by Heaven,” rather than by the crowds has not been our intention, and dare I say it, but the evidence of the perversion of a God-given desire has produced devastating fruit in The Body of Christ and it’s the created Idol Worship of Men.

We know that God has placed within every human heart the deep need to Worship, to bow down before and adore the One who has made Himself Known in all His Glory.

We were made to Worship, created to fix our gaze upon Him Alone, to Behold His Beauty and Majesty and to be Transformed into His Likeness.

“And we all, with unveiled face, Beholding the Glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same Image from one degree of glory to another!!”   2 Corinthians 3:18.

Yet in our restlessness and sinful nature, we have turned that Worship — meant only for God — toward created things, towards men, towards platforms, towards money and material possessions and fleeting fame and the fickleness of men’s applause!

🔥 What we Behold, we Become

Many have fixed their eyes on Celebrity Culture, Social Media Sensations and Influencers and so-called ‘successful’ Voices, only to take on the defilement and mixture which has further produce more striving, discontent, disappointment and emptiness.

Others have Worshiped the god of wealth and image and have become anxious, hollow and enslaved to the very things they pursued.

All while that God-shaped longing remains unsatisfied, and the soul grows increasingly restless in its pursuit.

There has been a Great Exchange.

We have traded the Glory of the Immortal and Eternal God for false images and mirages that resemble mortal man — trading intimate Experiential Knowledge of The Father for the empty applause of a crowd who are here today and gone tomorrow….

🔥  The Invitation Back to True Knowing

But even as I sit here, I hear the Voice of Mercy in The Father’s Heart saying, “My Greatest Desire is to be Known… and for you to be Known by Me!”

I believe in this Season, God is calling us out, and as we respond, He will break the power of exhausting and destructive cycles of self-promotion into the Divine Rest of being fully Known and fully Loved by Him.

He is inviting us to allow the Spirit of Truth to Redirect that deep longing within our own Hearts back to its original source — back to the One Who Created us and desired above all, to Be Known by Us and for Us to Know Him.

Friends, dare to open your Hearts and let this Revelation pierce us!

The same God who desires to make Himself Known to us, is the only One Who can truly satisfy our desire to be Known!

There is n o platform, position or fame — no amount of human recognition and celebration —that will ever fill the God-shaped space or the deep ache….

Only He can!

🔥 Pray with me

Father, come and Make Yourself Known to me in Greater Measures and Degrees of Your Glory and Love…

Expose, Reveal and then heal the misdirected longings within my own heart that longs to Be Known…

Turn my eyes away from the empty mirrors of the self and the altars and idols of men, and of Satan.

Let us truly find deep and lasting contentment and satisfaction to Be Known by You.

Build and Establish my True Identity in the place of deep and intimate Encounters with Your Presence…

Let True Anointing and Authority flow from that established Identity, and from a heart that have been fully seen by You….

And may we become a People who Behold You, and in Beholding — become like You!

For in Knowing You, and being Known by You, we will find the True meaning of Life and the Real Reason for what I was created for — that You May Be Glorified!
