“It’s Time for a Decision!” sums up the Gospel Message…

“When will you stop procrastinating, stop your half-hearted efforts, and decide to truly follow Jesus?”

My own memories of this moment are still vivid over 60 years after I ‘took the plunge’ in December 1962!

Then The LORD reminded me of this incident from one day a year or so ago — it was just a little bit unusual, but it popped back this morning.

I stood watching the clouds over our house that morning. The lower clouds were moving East to West while the higher ones were moving West to East!

I remember it so well as I stood there a good five minutes checking this out but, sure enough, lower clouds were moving East to West while the higher ones were moving West to East.

Most odd?

I felt the Holy Spirit come over me this morning, gently but noticeable.

“This is what is happening in your town, your nation, all over the world.

Everywhere there is confusion.

People do not know which way to turn.

Everywhere confusion, confusion, indecision, double mindedness!” He said.

At this point I also heard a rushing wind blowing. I couldn’t see it or feel it, but I could hear it very clearly.

“Ah — listen to the wind of My Spirit,” He continued

“He blows when and where I tell Him.

He is coming to you now.

He is on His way to you, to blow the old away and replace it with My Kingdom.

No more confusion, no more indecision, no more double mindedness!

He is bringing order and peace to My people and to those who will listen to them.

The rains of blessing are coming.

Showers of provision for all.”

I felt this last bit to be a message in its own right, but then He surprised me with this,
“The world will begin to queue at your doorstep waiting to receive what you have but what the world only dreams about and longs for — peace of mind and certainty about the future.”

I could now see flames — it was almost like Elijah in the cave.

I heard The LORD say, “What are you doing here, Chris?”

I knew He was waiting for me, for all of us, to take Him at his word.

“For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares The LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,’ declares The LORD.” Jeremiah 29:11-14a.

I felt very strongly the yearning heart of Father God as He waits for us, His children, to stop milling around like startled sheep and follow His Shepherds calling — to take Him at His Word and allow Him to do as He has always promised — His Kingdom come, His will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

As someone else said more recently,

“What are you doing that’s better than letting Jesus take control?”

Or to quote Leonard Ravenhill,

“Is what you’re doing worth Christ dying for?”
