My flesh is weary. Yes it is…
My heart has been deeply sorrowful over the seemingly endless stream of corruption and deceit that is covered up and reintroduced as small mistakes, “business decisions”, and watching those who rarely take ownership of their mishandling and damaging of others.
Just because it might appear that the wicked are prospering and seem to “get away” with doing awful things, it’s not always as it seems.
In this world and the next, evil will bring negative consequences and destruction — and God will judge those who commit such acts.
In Matthew 11:28-30 Jesus said, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest.”
In this passage, Jesus invites us to come to Him with all our burdens, anxieties, and struggles.
Drawing closer to God is not about striving to be perfect but about coming to Him as we are.
Jesus promises rest and peace for our weary souls when we approach Him in humility.
The invitation of Jesus is not just about physical rest but also about spiritual peace.
Drawing near to God means surrendering our worries and finding rest in His presence.
That’s not always an easy thing to do.
Psalm 145:18 says, “The LORD is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in Truth.”
This verse from the Psalms reminds us that God is near to those who call upon Him.
God is not distant or detached; He is close to those who seek Him sincerely and truthfully.
When we approach God with a genuine heart, He promises to be near to us.
Drawing closer to God is a lifelong process that involves seeking, trusting, and surrendering.
It’s about developing a heart that desires to know God more deeply and live in His presence.
The Bible is full of promises and encouragements for those who seek God with sincerity and devotion.
As we draw near to Him, He promises to draw near to us, filling our lives with His peace, love, and grace.
The message of Psalm 73:26; “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever …”
… is to fix our eyes not on what is seen but what is unseen.
It might appear that the wicked are thriving and followers of Jesus are wasting away, but what is seen is temporary.
Therefore we fix our eyes on Jesus who is the strength of our hearts and our portion forever.
