Praying for Iran and its Destiny in Christ
As someone born in Lebanon and now married to an Australian, I still carry spiritual authority and protocol to pray for Lebanon and the Middle East.
Although my mission base has been in Australia since 1996, God has continued to lead me to write and develop strategies for how to pray for the Middle East.
Let us Pray
- God brings down oppressive powers in His timing.
• Daniel 2:21- “He changes times and seasons; He removes kings and sets up kings.”
• Psalm 37:17- “For the power of the wicked will be broken, but the LORD upholds the righteous.”
• Isaiah 14:5- “The LORD has broken the staff of the wicked, the sceptre of rulers.”
These passages speak to God’s sovereignty over unjust systems without tying His will to any human prediction. - When God dismantles something, He prepares something new.
• Isaiah 58:12- “You shall raise up the foundations of many generations… you shall be called the repairer of the breach.”
• Jeremiah 1:10- “To uproot and tear down… to build and to plant.”
• Proverbs 29:2- “When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice.”
This aligns with the idea that collapse alone is not enough- righteous rebuilding must follow. - God works in long arcs of history, not instant results.
• Habakkuk 2:3- “The vision awaits its appointed time… though it lingers, wait for it.”
• 2 Peter 3:8- “With the Lord a day is like a thousand years…”
• Psalm 90:17- “Establish the work of our hands.”
God’s timelines often span generations. - “Zionism began with a thought in 1897”
Biblical principle: God plants seed of vision long before fulfillment.
• Zechariah 4:10- “Do not despise the day of small beginnings.”
• Isaiah 46:10- “Declaring the end from the beginning…”
• Isaiah 55:11- “My word… shall accomplish what I purpose.”
Movements often begin with a single seed-thought that God breathes on. - God fulfills promises through history, conflict, and unlikely circumstances.
• Isaiah 66:8- “Can a nation be born in a day?”
• Ezekiel 37:21–22- “I will gather them… and make them one nation in the land.”
• Psalm 102:13- “You will arise and have compassion on Zion; the appointed time has come.”
These verses speak to God’s ability to orchestrate history toward His purposes. - Discipling nations includes teaching people how to live justly.
• Micah 6:8- “Do justice, love mercy, walk humbly with your God.”
• Matthew 28:19–20- “Teach them to obey everything I have commanded you.”
• Isaiah 1:17- “Learn to do good; seek justice; correct oppression.”
• Proverbs 31:8–9- “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves.”
Discipleship in justice, compassion, and responsibility. - God often calls His people to build what does not yet exist.
• Isaiah 43:19- “See, I am doing a new thing… I am making a way in the wilderness.”
• Nehemiah 2:18- “Let us rise up and build.”
• Ephesians 2:10- “We are His workmanship… created for good works prepared beforehand.”
When there is a gap, God often appoints a builder.
