Spiritual Constipation
More than ever, people need to crowd out sounds of this world.
When was the last time you got quiet and still before The LORD?
It takes practice to sit still before The LORD. Nevertheless, we must press through to God’s Grace.
“Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46:10 (KJV).
Do we ever reflect on why we have troubles, burdens, and cares that weigh on our spirits?
“Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” 1 Peter 5:6-7 (KJV)
“He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful. But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.” Matthew 13:22-23 (KJV)/
Food we eat is for nourishment of the body. All food not used for life’s nutrition, should pass through our bowels.
“And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.” Genesis 1:29-30 (KJV).
Body unbalances happen. Sometimes food does not digest properly and clogs in the colon.
Constipation causes physical ailments like headaches, dizziness, difficulty breathing, and a general unrest.
Constipation also presents itself as a spiritual condition — namely spiritual warfare.
“Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Ephesians 6:11-12 (KJV).
The weightiness of the world is heavy. Spiritual weight delays man entrance into The LORD’s presence.
“Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.” Psalm 100:4 (KJV).
“Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.” Psalm 95:2 (KJV).
God destroyed entire cities (Sodom and Gomorrah) and a world because they were constipated with sin. Brothers and sisters sin can destroy our eternal salvation!
“The sun was risen upon the earth when Lot entered into Zoar. Then The LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from The LORD out of heaven; and he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.” Genesis 19:23-25 (KJV)
“And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented The LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. And The LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.” Genesis 6:5-7 (KJV).
It is wonderful that we do not have to explain our curved spiritual condition to The LORD.
No matter how we are bent over in sin — there is relief from spiritual constipation.
God already knows how to relieve spiritual constipation. It takes man confessing his/ her sin before a Holy God. Confession is good for the soul.
“If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.” 1 John 1:8-10 (KJV).
I was taking a trip with my granddaughter and I saw a homeless man carrying a cat on his backpack.
At first, I thought how odd. Then I began to see Jesus as He protects us from the enemy.
I saw the “Secret Place” in Psalm 91. I saw God’s protection and love. I saw His deliverance and I saw evil disappear.
I took this picture while riding in a car. As I reflect today — I believe the homeless man was “JESUS”.
“And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.” 1 Chronicles 4:10 (KJV).
Thank God — He gives us a dumping place for cares of this world.
Thank You God that others cannot smell my mess (Spiritual dysfunction) and see its huge volume.
Thank You LORD the world only sees my refreshing after I have been in Your presence. Halleluiah!
Please listen to “A Secret Place”
Psalm 91
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of The LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. Because thou hast made The LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; there shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. 16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.” Psalm 91:1-16 (KJV).
Peace Out,
