That Will Never Work!

This dream (see below) is so true!
I saw a friend once go up to a group of teenage guys in the middle of an open-air mall (with many people all around) and ask them, “Do you know Jesus!?”
In exasperation and bemusement I thought in my head, “That will never work!” (i.e. too simple, too direct, no method involved, no substance etc.), then a couple minutes later my friend led the whole EAGER group to accept Jesus as their LORD and Savior!
I quickly realised that it was not the method (1 Corinthians 12:6), our personality, or clever words or knowledge that saves (or that we should trust — John 6:63), instead it is the faithfulness and presence of The Holy Spirit to quicken people’s spirits, bring understanding to their minds, and open their hearts to The LORD Jesus (Acts 16:14).
Jesus saves by His own power through our willingness to believe and expect that He will save (by grace). Jesus will never do many (or any) miracles of salvation if we don’t believe He is about to save (then doubt it, even when we see people respond — Matthew 13:58).
But if we believe and trust His power through simple methods, He will act and show His strength in our simple sharing even though we think it is weak (in our own eyes).
I love the wisdom of this dream to show us the power of leading by a story which gives a picture and explanation of what salvation is and what the intent of The LORD was when he laid down His life for us.
Believer, there is no special evangelist or evangelism method in His Kingdom, there is only His faithfulness in our humanity, weakness and childlike trust in The LORD; be bold, tell people who this Jesus is (the Savior and good Shepherd) and what he has done for you!
Invite them to receive The LORD through leading them in a prayer of faith and repentance, God will give them willingness and sincerity to do it!
(I have now seen this too many times to count, The Holy Spirit makes them miraculously willing!)
Humans can reproduce only human life, but The Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life. (John 3:6)
“That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” John 3:6.
“Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”” Mark 9:23.
“And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all.” 1 Corinthians 12:6.
“It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.” John 6:63.
“Now a certain woman named Lydia heard us. She was a seller of purple from the city of Thyatira, who worshiped God. The Lord opened her heart to heed the things spoken by Paul.” Acts 16:14.
“Now He did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief.” Matthew 13:58.

“Last night I had a realistic dream where I was teaching about evangelism and healing.
I was at a large convention center where there were a lot of people. The event leader was breaking everyone into groups and chose me to teach a group.
It seemed very spontaneous to me because I hadn’t prepared anything to teach, so I just took the topic he gave me and a little creative liberty and began teaching whatever I could think of.
I started teaching about how to share the gospel. I said you can open the conversation with, “Has anyone told you about Jesus?” A man said, “And I bet everyone says yes.” I told him, “No surprisingly a lot of times they ask me to tell them. More often than you’d think.”
Then another person said, “Can I make a suggestion?” I could tell she was a bit offended by my straightforward approach and thinks Christians should be the seen and not heard type so I told her, “No, You may not make a suggestion.” And went on teaching.
I told them there’s also other opening lines, like the story of the good shepherd who lays His life down for the sheep. You can approach someone and ask, “Have you ever heard the story of the good shepherded who lays His life down for the sheep. And surprisingly very few people have.
“A shepherd had 100 sheep that were safe inside their fence but one escaped. This sheep is in danger, it could be eaten or fall of a cliff. This is a picture of our soul wandering around this earth vulnerable and the people around us are trying to destroy our innocence and crush our spirit.”
“It might be a coworker, maybe even a parent. But our souls are vulnerable like this. So God saw we were lost sheep and He sent Jesus to come find us.” Then I explain a bit more about Jesus.
But beginning with a story really engages peoples imagination before they’re preconceived ideas about Jesus interfere with actually hearing about Him..
My group was a bit distracted and disjointed, other people were milling through making It even harder to teach. I couldn’t even tell who was part of my group because people kept milling in and out.
So I said, “Okay everyone bring it in. Bring it in. Come in close.” And I kept bringing everyone in until we found ourselves in our own room and everyone was sitting quietly listening.
I decided I would demonstrate healing. So I asked if anyone has pain in their knees or back. I told them this is very common so I often ask about this when I’m evangelizing.
One man had pain in his back. So I went over and was asking him 0 to 10 what’s your pain level, he said 11. Then as I was about to teach on healing and tell them that the Kingdom of God has come and so we have the authority to enforce that Kingdom, his wife said, “Only Jesus can heal.”
This is the part in the dream were it suddenly became very difficult to speak and I struggled to say every word. At first I was trying to argue with her and then I realized she wasn’t going to listen and arguing was inefficient since I can barely speak.
So I said in my strangled voice, “Doubt, get out! Every seed of doubt leave this room.” and then I began pacing the room, “You don’t understand that a seed of doubt can spoil your miracle. That seed of doubt can stand in the way of someone’s miracle.”
“Don’t you bring that doubt in here. Don’t tell me people can’t be healed today, I’ve done healing and deliverance services at rehabs in Mexico and seen entire rooms healed.”
I woke up in the middle of my speech and found out I was speaking out loud, so I continued, half awake, “ Don’t tell me that Jesus doesn’t heal. I saw every person healing in entire rooms. Don’t interfere with someone’s healing with your seed of doubt.”

What do you think of that one? It was so oddly realistic for my usual dreams. Maybe I should make a YouTube series teaching about evangelism and healing?”
