The Blood Covenant!
Since yesterday was Good Friday which commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus and tomorrow is Easter Sunday, known as Resurrection Day, I’d like to share some powerful insights The Holy Spirit gave me about the significance of The Last Supper which Jesus shared with his twelve apostles on the night before his betrayal, and the symbolism of it.
I also want to share the interactions that he had with many people as He walked the earth for forty days after He rose from the grave, before ascending to The Father.
He not only ministered to people when He walked the earth, but also after His death and Resurrection.
The Last Supper (which is also the Passover Celebration) represents a profound Blood Covenant that Jesus established with his followers, not only for those who were alive at his death, but every person that ever existed.
Jesus made this Covenant with those who will receive it when He died on The Cross and shed His Blood for the remission of our sins.
When we accept Jesus Christ as our LORD and Savior, we become partakers of his heavenly nature and this Divine Covenant.
This is where he introduced Communion for the first time. Communion is powerful. It is symbolic for His Body and Blood.
He broke the Bread with his twelve apostles and said, “This is My Body which was given for you, do this in remembrance of Me.” (Luke 22:19)
Then He took the cup and said: “This Cup is the New Covenant in My Blood, which is shed for you.” (Luke 22:20)
This is a Blood Covenant that He made with us.
Judas who later betrayed him, was among the twelve. Jesus’ Covenant replaced the Mosaic Covenant of the Old Testament and we are no longer under The Law — but One with Christ.
And today, we continue to observe Communion, remembering His Sacrifice.
Communion was not, and is not a religious ritual, but Jesus had to fulfill the Scriptures before he died.
He died (John 19:23-30) then went into hades (hell) for three days and three nights (1 Peter 3:19-20, 1 Peter 4:6, Ephesians 4:8-10, Matthew 12:40) then he was resurrected, (Matthew 28:7).
He appeared to many people including eleven of the Apostles “after” He was Resurrected and gave them The Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20).
Judas had already passed — so it was now eleven Apostles.
He said to them: “Go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of The Holy Spirit. Teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you, and lo’ I’m with you always even till the end of the age. Amen.”
He also appeared to Mary Magdalene, his disciples, and Thomas (John 20:11-21:25)
After this, He appeared to the Apostles and many other people over a period of forty days, teaching them about The Kingdom of God.
Again, this was still after He died and was Resurrected (Acts 1:3-8).
Jesus appeared to two disciples on the road to Emmaus as they were walking along the road discussing everything that happened with Jesus.
He asked them what they were discussing, and they told Him all that happened.
Jesus then began to explain everything that really happened and asked why they didn’t believe when it was written by the Prophets of old.
He expounded to them all the Scriptures concerning Himself. They then asked him to stay with them that night because it was getting dark, so he did — but they still didn’t have a clue who He was. (Luke 24:13-49)
But then, when He was in the house with them at the table, Jesus took bread, blessed it, broke it, and gave it to them.
As soon as they took the Communion, their eyes were opened, and they recognized Him. He then vanished from their sight.
They said to one another, “Did not our hearts burn within us when he spoke with us and opened the scriptures?” (Luke 24:32)
Jesus appeared again when they went into Jerusalem and were telling others about the incident.
Jesus then appeared to Thomas, who wanted to see the holes in Jesus’ hands to prove that it was Him!
Many of you may not know this, but after Jesus gave up His Spirit, the Veil of the Temple was torn from top to bottom; there was an earthquake; rocks were split; and the graves were opened.
Many bodies of the saints who had died were raised and came out of their graves and also went into The Holy City and appeared to many. (Matthew 27:50-53)
I understand that this sounds bizarre, but that’s why I am adding the scripture references.
The Bible is amazing! It is the only book in the world that we refer to as The “Living” Word!
When we speak it, our words have creative power. That’s why so many of us battle with demonic entities, as they don’t want us to know about our Covenant with Jesus.
There are many Covenants mentioned in The Bible such as the Adamic Covenant, the Noahic Covenant, the Abrahamic Covenant, the Mosaic Covenant, the Davidic Covenant just to name a few, but none of them are as significant as The Blood Covenant that Jesus made with us when He shed His Blood on The Cross for the remissions of our sins.
That’s why we no longer need to make animal sacrifices.
This Resurrection Ray, Jesus wants you to understand the price that he paid for you.
He wants to reveal Himself to you and have a personal relationship with you.
We have to get a Revelation of The Blood Covenant that we have with Jesus.
He shed His Blood that we may be healed. He bore our griefs, and carried our sorrows (Isaiah 53:4)
You could get delivered on that Scripture! He was wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement for our peace was upon him, and by his stripes, we are healed. (Isaiah 53:5)
And it 1 Peter 2:24 it says: By His Stripes, we “were” healed. Meaning that it already came to pass! You could get healed on that Scripture as you speak it!
Just as he appeared to two disciples on the road to Emmaus, and they didn’t recognize him, Jesus is walking with you and you don’t recognize him either!
Some of you haven’t encountered The Risen Christ — because you are still fixated on His Crucifixion — rather than His Resurrected Power.
Jesus longs to break Bread with you!
Jesus longs to fellowship with you!
Jesus wants to reveal Himself to you, transform your heart and mind, and ignite a fire within you!
Jesus wants to deliver you and set you free!
For those of you who don’t know Him, accept Jesus in your heart today. The veil has been torn — Enter in!
There is a beautiful Anointing on me as I am writing this tonight.
For those of you who already know Jesus, He longs for a deeper relationship with you!
Jesus wants to move mightily in your life, gifting you with encounters beyond what you could ever imagine.
“Come up higher!” says The LORD, “and I will show you things that you know not of.”
Share Jesus with your family and friends this Resurrection Day!
Blessings in Christ Jesus,
