Habakkuk the Prophet was discouraged, because it seemed as though God was not listening and He didn’t understand why God stayed silent in the midst of social injustices.
But God let him know that He was getting ready to raise up an enemy. He said,
“Look around at the godless nations. Look long and hard. Brace yourself for a shock. Something’s about to take place and you’re going to find it hard to believe. I’m about to raise up Babylonians to punish you, Babylonians, fierce and ferocious- World-conquering Babylon, grabbing up nations right and left, A dreadful and terrible people, making up its own rules as it goes.
Their horses run like the wind, attack like bloodthirsty wolves. A stampede of galloping horses thunders out of nowhere. They descend like vultures circling in on carrion. They’re out to kill. Death is on their minds. They collect victims like squirrels gathering nuts. They mock kings, poke fun at generals, spit on forts, and leave them in the dust. They’ll all be blown away by the wind. Brazen in sin, they call strength their god.” (Habakkuk 1:5-11 MSG)
Many times we think God has forgotten us but that is not true!
God has a plan and a purpose my friend, for those who are causing injustices in the earth concerning the good and the righteous but we must have faith and learn to wait upon God for His time to bring about both restitution and justice for the innocent.
God saw that the prophet was discouraged and as a result He spoke a word of knowledge and instructions to him,
“God Says, “Look!” “Look around at the godless nations. Look long and hard. Brace yourself for a shock. Something’s about to take place and you’re going to find it hard to believe . I’m about to raise up Babylonians to punish you, Babylonians, fierce and ferocious — World-conquering Babylon, grabbing up nations right and left, a dreadful and terrible people, making up its own rules as it goes. …” (Habakkuk 1:1-11 MSG).
I believe that God is getting ready to cause His enemies to raise up against one another to fight in order to bring about both His plans and His divine destiny in this season.
Sometimes God will use division like he did the people of the Tower of Babel to confuse those walking in unity to bring about division, so He can accomplish His Plans to unify His People in order to set order in both the Nations and His House, as he did when he told Prophet Habakkuk He was raising up the Babylonians to defeat the people. (Genesis 11:1–9)
Many are building, but what they are building is not according to God’s Plans, but out of their own lustful and fleshly desires to have a platform of fame, power and to still God’s Glory from Him.
“And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for mortar.
And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.” (Genesis 11:3-4)
Sometimes we think because we are building and everything is coming together, it’s God-ordained, but many times God allows it for a time, until He gives us opportunity to repent and to do a u-turn before He comes to tear down every brick we have built that is not of Him!
It’s time to consider why are we doing what we are doing?
Unless God comes to fight with us with the sword of His mouth!
The prophet was discouraged until God spoke a word of confirmation and encouragement why it seemed the wicked was prospering in their wickedness, “Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvellously: for I will work a work in your days, which ye will not believe, though it be told you.” (Habakkuk 1:5 KJV)
