  3. Laura, I just read and can only say, I wish everyone would.
Thank you for this very powerful teaching on the ‘fear of the Lord’. I have never read an article written on the subject any better!
It sure is self-examination time for me first, then every one of us from the Word of God!

    Just pulling out here:

“This message is not intended to bring anyone under condemnation or legalism, because for those who have received Christ as their Savior, their sins are covered by the blood of Jesus and the declaration of faith unto Salvation.

However, it can affect what type of reward we receive in the hereafter. We are evaluated by how well we have loved others during our lifetime.”

May we learn to love truly, as Jesus loves!! Blessings dear one. ❤️

    • Amen! May we all be challenged towards growth and maturity! Loving others isn’t always easy, but it is the measuring rod of our faith.

  4. Weighty, weighty post you penned Sister. All true. So very true.

Excuse me while I leave the comment section now, as I need to sit before the Lord and let this Word examine me with the Magnifying glass . Talk about the ‘washing of the Word’ .
    Blessings to you.

    • Oh my goodness, sister, I do know what you mean! I have read words written by others that have also lead me into self-reflection. It’s a good thing though to ponder those weighty words and have a good conversation with the Holy Spirit!

  5. Thank you.  What is frustrating to me is someone I love can be so kind and loving and then turn on a dime and say such mean and hurtful things, that aren’t true at all.  He goes to church every Sunday and is happy from day to day.  I call him out on it, but I’m left hurt and frustrated.  He walks around happy and I am left hurt.  It’s not fair.  He seems to get his prayers answered while I continue to struggle.  I don’t get it.

    • Dear ‘K’,
I am just now reading your comment. I’m so sorry that you have someone in your life that is inflicting pain. Perhaps it is time to reflect on whether or not it’s time to close the door to the relationship. Just because someone goes to church doesn’t necessarily mean that they have developed good fruit in their life. And just because someone says they are a Christian does not mean that they have learned how to walk in Christian love. There are times and seasons where God uses others to help us develop in maturity and wisdom, and that can sometimes be seasons of painful growth as we learned to grow in our obedience, practicing forgiveness.

However, it is also wisdom to know when when someone has taken advantage of grace and is an unhealthy relationship because they are inconsiderate of your feelings. It’s okay to close the door out of protection for your own mental and emotional health. The scripture does say that we must guard our heart because it is the wellspring of life.

I pray the Holy Spirit to show you whether it’s time to let go of this relationship. Many blessings to you!
