“Are you satisfied with your goal achieving method?”

The LORD is pressing me about not stopping effective work — after completing one goal!

Finishing a stated goal builds endurance, and ushers in a feeling of accomplishment.

Riding a bicycle with training wheels was a lot of fun — until my parents started giving me strange looks.  The tilted head, and half smiles, were not because my parents stopped loving their little girl.

In fact, the looks stated mom and dad loved me more.  The fun was over.  It was time for me to learn how to ride that bicycle without training wheels.

“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”   Proverbs 22:6.

The strange looks were transferred to my face when my dad removed those training wheels.  Suddenly, the ride did not feel like fun anymore.

I tried to keep the wheels straight and sturdy – but kept falling. How could something so much fun in the past become horrifying?

No matter how I wanted to give up — my father would not allow me to stop trying.  After, many scratches and bruises, I learned how to ride that bicycle without the training wheels.

This experience challenged me to move from my comfort zone.  After gaining a childhood victory — I moved to greater things.  I learned how to drive a car!

“When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.”   1 Corinthians 13:11.

The LORD is showing me how stages of life change — and I cannot go back to riding a tricycle.

While I am managing one goal — I am also being strengthened to achieve another goal.

“Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eye service, as men pleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God: and whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to The LORD, and not unto men; knowing that of The LORD ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve The LORD Christ.  But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.”   Colossians 3:22-25.

Gold is a precious metal. Most people want gold in their portfolio.

Having a “Gold Standard” reminds us not to quit because we always have something else to achieve.

Work as unto The LORD and you will always have a “Gold Standard”.
