There is one position in Ministry that is most valuable and commanded by the Lord.  The person who fills this position in Ministry is the greatest of all Christians; there is no greater position in the Ministry to be held. Yet this position is the most rejected and ignored.  It is the one which any pastor finds it hardest to fill in any church.  Call a meeting to pursue this ministry and NO BODY SHOWS UP.  The pastor scratches his head and says, What is going on?  Where are all the people?

The GREATEST CHRISTIAN IN SHOE LEATHER IS A…………….. “SOULWINNER” ONE WHO GOES AFTER THE LOST UNTIL THEY ARE FOUND, THAN BRINGS THEM IN.

Having been a pastor for many years (I am now 70 and I began as pastor early out after Bible School at the age of about 21) I have known this bitter fact that IN ANY GIVEN CHURCH YOU BEST KNOW THAT ORGANIZED VISITATION AND SOULWINNING IS THE HARDEST TO MAINTAIN.  If you call for this Soulwinning, then get ready for a shock to your system.

Most people in any given church has the attitude OH THAT IS THE PASTORS JOB…. HE IS CALLED!!!  And than they proceed to say…  that is what you are being paid for…  so YOU DO IT.

Now search the ranks of Pastors today and find out something else most shocking.  VERY VERY VERY FEW PASTORS EVER WIN A SOUL OUT SIDE THE CHURCH.  Matter fact very few pastors even visit. It is today like the Old Fashioned Doctor who USED TO MAKE HOUSE CALLS….  there is no doctors like that in practice.  If you want to see a Doctor than you will have to make an appointment.  Well try finding a “Pastor”.  Most likely you will have to wait a week or more just to see him IN HIS OFFICE.  If you get there it will not be about YOUR SOUL.

This may sound cynical to you, but it most certainly is true.  Soulwinners are as scarce as HEN’S TEETH.  And folks that is very scarce.  Matter fact most churches are today only SEEKER FRIENDLY.  That is…  they are only friendly to those who walk through the doors of a building called a church.

Well where are those who take literal the commands of Jesus that says GO YE INTO THE HIGHWAYS AND BY-WAYS…  AND BRING THEM IN.  Well I say, today it is CALL INTO THEM AND INVITE THEM TO COME IN.  But never will you see any one going out much to ACTUALLY BRING THEM IN.  That is to say to go over to the sinner and actually speak to him about his soul!!!  Who ever heard of such a thing???

So I might summarize:

THE GREATEST CHRISTIAN IS A SOULWINNER,  YET THE RAREST OF BREED IS SUCH A ONE WHO CARES ENOUGH TO ACTUALLY GO. …
