The Principle of Honor – Sowing Into Spiritual Revelation
In a time when so many are making viral paid contents, it’s easy to overlook the vessels who pour out Spiritual Revelation and Prophetic Insight.
But the Apostle Paul reminds us of a powerful principle in 1 Corinthians 9,
“If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things?” 1 Corinthians 9:11.
Paul was saying that those who labor to feed others spiritually are worthy of receiving material support in return.
This is not a demand for payment, it’s a principle of honor and reciprocity.
Why Some Don’t Appreciate What Is Freely Given?
This is because familiarity breeds contempt :— People can become so accustomed to receiving deep teachings and prophetic words that they literally take them for granted….
Many have an entitlement mentality :— Some expect ministers to pour out endlessly without considering the sacrifice and spiritual cost involved…
Lack of maturity :— Those who are spiritually immature may value material things over spiritual things, failing to see the value in what is being poured out.
When Jesus sent out His disciples, He said: “Freely you have received; freely give” (Matthew 10:8).
But He also said, “The laborer is worthy of his hire” (Luke 10:7).
We can clearly see that Jesus modeled the Principle of Honor!
Yes, The Gospel is free, but the vessel pouring out revelation still has needs!
Ministers who labor in The Word are pouring from a place of sacrifice, often bearing the weight of heavy spiritual assignments without demanding anything in return.
What Happens When We Withhold Honor?
♦ We cut ourselves off from further revelation and blessing!
♦ We dishonor the vessel God is using, blocking the flow of God’s anointing.
♦ We perpetuate a culture where false prophets thrive, demanding “seeds” for words, while true voices go unrecognized and unsupported.
My personal lesson and advice to fellow ministers: Discernment is necessary in sharing Revelation…
Not every Revelation is meant to be released to everyone.
Jesus said, “Do not cast your pearls before swine” (Matthew 7:6).
Some Revelations come with a high spiritual cost, and sharing them without Spiritual Discernment can lead to misuse, trampling, or spiritual attacks.
Ministers must be led by The Spirit to know when to pour out and when to hold back, ensuring that what is sacred is not despised or devalued.
Call to Action
Reflect: Are you receiving Revelation without showing honor to the vessel?
Pray: Ask The LORD how you can sow into those who labor in The Word, not as a ‘transaction’ — but as a Kingdom Principle of Honor.
Support the True Voices: Let’s break the cycle of only honoring those who demand “seeds” and start supporting those who pour out with integrity and humility.
The very Revelation that has been freely given may hold the key to your breakthrough but are you willing to honor the vessel that God is using?
God bless you!
Postscript
God has called you to break curses, to uproot demonic strongholds, and to dismantle ancient altars in your bloodline and generation.
But beware of the voices that rise against you.
For the enemy is seeking to isolate you, to discredit you, and to assassinate your character.
Hold your peace and do not react out of emotion, for every false accusation shall be exposed and every lying tongue shall be silenced.
Yah WILL defend you and WILL vindicate your name in due season.
Stand firm and do not be moved!
