The Psalm 23 Shepherd
The LORD says,
“Do not regret. Do not take regrets into your future. Do not consistently think about things that have happened in your life-cycle.”
“Rejoice in The LORD always; again I will say, rejoice; 5 let your forbearance be known to all men; The LORD is near; for nothing be anxious, but in everything by prayer, and by supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God; and the peace of God, that is surpassing all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:4-7.
“I AM giving you this time to understand yourself. While you think and use time to understand others — these things distract from your purpose. It is not important as you believe to understand what defines other men’s heart.”
“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I The LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.” Jeremiah 17:9-10.
“Fill your heart with My Word. To know My Word is to know your own heart. Understand the condition of the heart.
The heart is the mechanism that aids in applying the Word of God. Whatever fills the heart is a motivator of life’s actions. My Word helps in heart matters.
See a heart wounded and broken. The only true fix is the Word of God. It must be applied – as it is written or prescribed.
A doctor may say, “Take two pills in the morning once a day.”
My Word must be applied many times as necessary until it takes root.”
“A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.” Proverbs 17:22.
“The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but The LORD delivereth him out of them all. He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.” Psalm 34:18-20.
“Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.” Matthew 18:21-22.
“Hearing the Word of The LORD a thousand times is not too much. Some people believe hearing and repeating, “The LORD is my shepherd, and I shall not want, is over-kill”.
But, a real sheep knows the meaning of relying on a “True Good Shepherd”.
The sheep knows it can wonder after green grass and get lost.
The sheep knows he can get busy eating green grass and not raise his head up to see danger.
A sheep knows the Shepherd will lead him to water when he gets thirsty.
A sheep knows that when his wool needs trimming — I will not cause infection to his skin.
I will not cut so deep as to cause a permanent wound.”
“And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of The LORD, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: for whom The LORD loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.” Hebrews 12:5-8.
“A sheep knows when the battle gets too rough I AM always present.
In life, there will always be a pack of sheep that consistently go astray.
They are drunk from milk. Too much milk causes a hangover.
These sheep try to fill a void with milk when they need meat.
Spiritual immaturity causes hangovers.”
“Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; and were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; and did all eat the same spiritual meat; and did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.” 1 Corinthians 10:1-5.
“For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.” Hebrews 5:12-14.
“But I will bring meat to My sheep. I will put it on a table right before their enemies.
The meat I bring will be portions that sheep can digest.
I do not give a baby sheep a full portion of steak to choke or strangle itself.
I AM a God of Order.”
“But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying The LORD that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not. For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; and spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly; and delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked: (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;) The LORD knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished: but chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.” 2 Peter 2:1-10.
“Children even though I allow you to go astray — as a sheep you can always come back home. Coming home children is the “Hope of Salvation”.
My children you have a King. You have a LORD. You have a Savior and a Master.
Come unto Me all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest.”
“For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.” 2 Corinthians 7:10.
A Psalm of David.
“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of The LORD for ever.” Psalm 23:1-6.
