The Selah Pause of Psalm 24 — The Battle is Over — Time to Heal
In January 2025, I was reading Psalm 24 and as I came to verse 6, The LORD highlighted the “Selah.”
“6This is Jacob, the generation of those who seek Him, who seek Your face. Selah.
7Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of Glory shall come in.“ Psalm 24:6-7 NKJV.
Such as the generation of those who seek him, who seek the face of the God of Jacob!
This pause is just before it says — lift up your heads, oh gates! And be lifted up O ancient doors, that the King of Glory may come in.
I believe that we have all individually been in a Selah pause and what does that look like?
To pause is to take stock, to stop running, slow down and encouraged to seek Father first.
Many have been running for so long that it felt normal yet exhausting, a striving yet no reward, but I believe The LORD has been addressing this behaviour and mindset to many of us, that this is no longer the way.
Today on a Prayer Triplet, something was different.
As we invited The Holy Spirit in, there was a strong Angelic Presence.
Rather than going full pelt into Intercession, I sensed The Holy Spirit was saying to pause —simply be — listen and receive His Peace.
I suddenly had a remembrance of a documentary of a World War I clip of the footage of the guns stopping at 11 am on the 11th of November 1918.
As the men sat there exhausted, there came a deathly silence, but then the beautiful sound of bird song could be heard loud and clear.
I felt an overwhelming wave of emotion hit me as The Holy Spirit said “The Battle is over!”
Just as the men who had nothing but war to focus on, just as they simply aimed to survive each day, this is how it has been for those on the front line interceding for the nations and our families.
These men laid down their weapons. Many of them were shell shocked with PTSD, many too tired to even think, many wounded and many forgetting who they were.
I believe The LORD is telling us to put our weapons down now.
It will feel uncomfortable to us to lay down those guns and slings and arrows.
This does not mean that we cease our Declarations and Prayers, this means that as we speak them, we are to know they have been heard and answered and a Daniel 10:10 moment is upon us.
“Suddenly, a hand touched me, which made me tremble on my knees and on the palms of my hands.” Daniel 10:10.
The LORD is already pulling many of you to lay them down, and you may feel a battle going on with yourself.
There will be a moment of not knowing what to do, yearning for rest and yet feeling you have something you should be doing.
It will feel a little like a ‘push and pull’ wrestling, so do be aware when self-condemnation comes in — then give it all to God.
Allow The Father to sing over you and stroke your hair as you Rest in Him.
We are to drawer closer by simply quieting ourselves, thanking Him for what is about to happen, and listening with inclined ears.
You are being pulled with an unstoppable force into your breakthrough, just as the baby comes through the birthing canal, it is simply a case of surrender.
I believe we have all individually been given Scriptures where The LORD has been working in us to bring healing, gentle correction in abiding and to remind us — who and who’s we are, our authority in Christ.
Just as the first Adam was given all authority over creation, The Father is wanting us to return to this recognition.
We are stepping into a new wineskin era that surpasses Acts 2.
I have noticed the last few weeks, as well as other brethren and family members, that there seems to be a resurrection of birds that were becoming rare.
Woodpeckers, starlings, kestrels, etc are reemerging.
The LORD always speaks to me through His Creation, and I wondered to him what this means.
The birds are as a sign of resurrection power, to take flight and to take back the air with sweet songs of Victory and Dominion.
The Father in Heaven is saying that your voice will ring out where they were suppressed.
Your Father is saying the old has gone and the new is dawning.
Your Father is saying to simply Praise in your Destiny, for you are going to your Goshen.
Little did Joseph know that it was only a matter of minutes that he would go from prison, to be raised up to govern over Egypt.
This is that moment, this is that time-frame and this is your breakthrough!
“So Pharaoh sent for Joseph, and he was quickly brought from the dungeon. When he had shaved and changed his clothes, he came before Pharaoh…….
……. You shall be in charge of my palace, and all my people are to submit to your orders. Only with respect to the throne will I be greater than you.
So Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I hereby put you in charge of the whole land of Egypt.” Then Pharaoh took his signet ring from his finger and put it on Joseph’s finger. He dressed him in robes of fine linen and put a gold chain around his neck. He had him ride in a chariot as his second-in-command, and people shouted before him, “Make way!” Thus he put him in charge of the whole land of Egypt.
Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I am Pharaoh, but without your word no one will lift hand or foot in all Egypt.” Genesis 41:14, 40-44.
