The Temple has been replaced….
with the Temple that is within you
“Therefore, holy “brothers,” sharing in a heavenly calling, reflect on Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession, who was faithful to the one who appointed him, just as Moses was “faithful in [all] his house.” But he is worthy of more “glory” than Moses, as the founder of a house has more “honor” than the house itself. Every house is founded by someone, but the founder of all is God. Moses was “faithful in all his house” as a “servant” to testify to what would be spoken, but Christ was faithful as a son placed over his house. We are his house, if [only] we hold fast to our confidence and pride in our hope,”Hebrews 3:1-6.
“There was a temple in the wilderness, and it served for a time in its purpose in drawing men and women to myself. Then the temple became a place of teaching the Torah and reading the books from within it.
The laws of Moses were read and priests followed a strict code of adherence to the law. The blood of rams and bulls was offered up as a sacrifice. And then my Son came to be offered up as the supreme sacrifice for sin. The way to follow after Him was to seek Him first with all your heart and accept the work that He did for you on the cross.
And so now that temple is within you. It is not made with human hands. It is not carved out as a beautiful building upon the earth. The altar itself is your heart. And how I would long to fill that temple within you.”
