There Has Never Been but “One” Church!
In the Scriptures we read about “The Church in the Wilderness”.
“This is that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear.
This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us.” Acts 7:37-38.
In the New Testament we read about, “A Church which is the “Called Out Assembly of Believers.'”
In the King James Version New Testament, the “Church” (Greek: ekklesia) refers to a called-out assembly of believers.
It represents both the universal Body of Christ (Matthew 16:18) and local congregations (Acts 19:37), serving as a holy, Christ-centered family, the bride of Christ, and the pillar of truth.
Christ is seen in both of these Churches!
Jesus told the Pharisees that “Moses spoke to Me…”
See:
“For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed Me; for he wrote of Me. But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe My Words?” John 5:46-17.
There are many teachers today who try to tell you there is only one Church, and it does not include the Believers in the Old Testament.
They even go so far as to teach that you should never mix the two [Jews and Gentiles].
Then they proceed to tell you that The Church started in Acts 2 and that same Church will be taken out before the days of Tribulation.
[This is where those who teach that only the Jews will be in the Tribulation, because the Gentile Church will be taken out beforehand.]
But the Scriptures tell us that there is Only One Church.
Read it here:
“There is One Body, and One Spirit, even as ye are called in One Hope of your calling; One LORD, One Faith, One Baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.” Ephesians 4:4-6.
For farther study about this Church and its very root.
One need only read:
“For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.
And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert grafted in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree; boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.
Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in.
Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear: for if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.
Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again.
For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?
For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery,” Romans 11:16-25.
For those who truly now see this Truth, one need only go and read about how God made the two “One” when he broke down the middle wall of division between them.
See it here:
“Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; that at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: but now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; and that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: and came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.
For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; and are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; in whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: in whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.” Ephesians 2:11-22.
So don’t believe the lie that there are “Two Churches”, for it is not true.
There is only One Church, and that Church began over in the old testament when believers began to meet and worship God together.
When the New Covenant began, one must note that The First Church of Believers were “Jewish”.
Jesus called His Apostles — all being Jews — and Jesus Himself was a Jewish rabbi.
Jesus then told his Jewish Apostles to watch out for the middle of the Tribulation week and see the Antichrist set up his idol in the Temple.
He told them to flee into the mountains.
Then also see the New Testament “Call to Peter” to go down to preach to the Gentile Cornelius.
When he did, many unbelieving Gentiles were brought into the Body of Christ, and received the same Holy Spirit!
The Scriptures then tell us that there is but One Church.
The Jews are blinded now, because of their sins, but there is coming a day when the Nation will be saved in a day.
On that day they will be grafted back into the good olive tree from which they fell.
In that day they will see that they crucified their own Messiah.
What a day that will be when their eyes are opened to see the one who died for them at their hands.
