. . . To Make Them Envious!
Envy, for the right reason, is acceptable to God — He even tells us!
This is a call to biblical values in our lives!
I find it amazing that God would use man, fallen man, to win others in the same position as ourselves, fallen, to Himself.
After all, He could just mandate it, speak it out, and it would be so! Yet He doesn’t do that because He has graciously given us the free will to choose for ourselves what to do, what to say and think, even what to believe!
Then, as if to emphasise that grace, He had Paul write about it to the church in Rome — not in a legalistic ‘this is allowed but that isn’t allowed’ kind of way, but He gave us the choice to choose or reject things!
Here, Paul is speaking about sin, and redemption being available to everyone when he says this in Romans 11,
“Again I ask: Did they stumble so as to fall beyond recovery? Not at all! Rather, because of their transgression, salvation has come to the non-believers, atheists, and agnostics to make them and followers of false religions ENVIOUS.” Romans 11:10-11.
My paraphrase and emphasis.
Isn’t that just staggering?
To make any non-believer envious!
Envious of what exactly?
- Envious of our simple Faith.
- Envious of our peace that passes understanding.
- Envious of our certainty for the future — even eternity!
- Envious of heaven — fearful of hell, and envious of our ability to actually chose by accepting Gods offer of redemption, salvation, and eternal life through Jesus Christ.
At this particular point in time, many many unbelievers are exercising their right to make that choice.
They are realising the shallowness of the world, especially politics and media.
Whilst there is still a very large proportion of woke, mostly liberal people, there is also a solid group of God-fearing Christians who are very un-woke and wide awake and newly waking folk seeking something other than that which they’re being ‘force-fed’ by politicians and media.
So are we now to be making them envious of our beliefs and way of life?
YES, absolutely!
How?
This, I believe, is the Tasking and Anointing which The LORD is laying upon the Remnant Church in 2026.
I ask again — How?
As the Remnant Church, we must not just preach a good preach, and talk a good talk, we must also walk a good walk too — such that the unsaved will see from our whole lifestyle that we are different!
Scripture tells us, in Matthew 7:16-20, that ‘by their fruits you will know them’!
Fruits of the Holy Spirit are described in the Bible (Galatians 5:22-23) that develop in our lives as we walk with God, including love, joy, peace, patience (or forbearance), kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, and some add modesty or chastity.
These are the natural result of the Holy Spirit working within a believer, reflecting God’s character in our lives!
Scripture also tells us that ‘By their love for one another you shall know them’, in John 13:35
“By their love for one another” refers to Jesus’ command in John 13:35 that His followers and disciples should love each other as He has loved them, and this distinctive, selfless love is how the world will recognize them as Christians, and His Disciples.
It signifies a radical, self-sacrificing agape love that sets believers apart, reflecting God’s own love and demonstrating their commitment to His teachings, even amidst the turmoil of their daily world.
These are the signs in our lives that will first attract people to Jesus Christ, then, as they see the fruit of our lives and our love, not just for each other, but also for everyone with whom we come into contact — then, with Holy Spirit convicting and convincing them, they will become curious, then envious of our faith and absolute belief!
That’s when they will come face to face with the decision all Christians have made about Jesus and ultimately about God Himself!
This, I believe, is one of the most important assignments given to the church in centuries.
It’s always been our assignment, but in this season it has become critical to our entire end time pathway.
Yes, we can affect the effectiveness and harvest of Revival — because that’s what it’s all about at the end of the day.
We have a role to play in the harvest of Revival!
Simple as that!
